The latest Genshin Impact leaks from the version 5.7 beta have revealed a brand-new endgame system called the Purging Rebellious Calamity Challenge! This new addition seems to function similarly to the normal Spiral Abyss, offering a challenging mode with increased difficulty levels.
You can take a look at the leak here:
What Is It About?
While there isn’t much information yet, the first tutorial for this new mode has been revealed, and it gives us a good look at how it works. Much like the normal Spiral Abyss, you will select your desired difficulty level. As the difficulty increases, enemies become stronger and more aggressive. Completing it at higher difficulties will automatically unlock rewards for all lower tiers, saving you the trouble of redoing each stage.
The challenge consists of three consecutive phases. Each phase is a time-based battle where you need to defeat waves of enemies across three stages. This structure is quite similar to the current Abyss.
Can You Use Resin?
One unique aspect of this new mode is the ability to use Resin, something the original Abyss doesn’t allow. For the first 10 days after the challenge begins, if you are Adventure Rank 45 or higher and complete it in Dire difficulty or above, you can consume any type of Resin to activate a special Chaotic Ley Line Blossom. Doing so lets you pick a Domain of Blessing and claim x1, x2, or x3 rewards from it. This may be a new opportunity to gather materials and resources efficiently!
New Abyss Location

Thanks to Seele Leaks, we also have a glimpse of the new Abyss location. It is reported to be positioned right next to Dragonspine, adding another mysterious landmark to explore. This also means you will probably need to unlock Liyue to access this challenge.
