Fellowship Wyrmheart Dungeon Guide

Wyrmheart is a frozen cavern filled with deadly Eldrin frost elves and dangerous magical ice elementals. At the end of the dungeon waits Magistrate Veras, seeking a Wyrm’s egg to be used to grant their leader, Cithrel, great power.

This one-boss dungeon is the precursor to the three-boss milestone dungeon Cithrel’s Fall, and as such you’ll find similar enemies across both.

Notable Trash Enemy Abilities

Blade of Cithrel’s abilities do heavy damage to the tank if out of place, or with their leaps to other party members. Both of these can be interrupted with a forced movement CC. If two Ice Breakers target the same party member, use a personal defensive otherwise it can be lethal at higher difficulties and it’s often too quick to move out of.

Coldheart Assassin’s Wicked Strikes should be watched carefully by both DPS. As the enemy travels far away and stuns one player, it often has to be interrupted by the other DPS as they’re out of place for the tank to get to. Forced movement is a good thing to save for this one. Coldheart Poison should be dispelled off the tank to ensure healing doesn’t get too difficult.

Eldrin Chronomancer’s channeled abilities should be interrupted. Decripify does very heavy tank damage and Temporal Manipulation can turn a pull around. Temporal Manipulation can be interrupted at the end of its charge up.

Deceitful Scholar’s Rune of Detonation will burn a party’s HP very quickly. Interrupt this, particularly when there’s two in a single pack. Volatile Orb when in Adept is easiest managed by the healer. Make sure the DPS stand in close and out of the way, and the healer can kite the orbs around in the back line. They will last until the scholar is killed.

Wyrmheart Boss Guide

Wymheart’s boss fight is Apostate Veras. This fight will require careful interrupts, tank positioning and mitigations. However, if interrupts are done well this fight can be much easier than other bosses at the same difficulty.

Apostate Veras Abilities

NameRecastInterruptibleDescription
Icy Death12sYesShort cast that does heavy damage to the main target.
Frigid Mists 33sYesChannel that targets players randomly, leaving permanent areas on the ground that slow and deal damage.
Glacial Spikes30sNoLong channel that creates 6 ice spikes over time under 4 party members which erupt after a short delay, knocking up and dealing damage.
Howling Blast25sNoPoints towards the current target with a large wide cone dealing lethal damage and knocking back far.
Splintering Ice(Adept+)18sNoTarget a random party member with a debuff. When the effect ends or is dispelled, target takes heavy damage and shoots 6 projectiles from the target dealing heavy damage to those hit.

Before the Fight

Assign 1 ranged DPS to interrupt Frigid Mists. Assign the other to Icy Death.

Apostate Veras

Tank Apostate Veras in one of the corners of the arena, ensuring to give the tank some room to move around in.

By having the tank interrupt Icy Death, and then a ranged DPS interrupt when the tank’s interrupt is on cool-down, you should be able to manage the tank busting ability the entire time. Be sure to mark your interrupt target! (V by default). Worst case scenario, don’t take Icy Death unmitigated.

Frigid Mists should be interrupted as soon as possible. The recast is long enough for it to be one DPS’ responsibility. If left unchecked, the arena will become difficult to move around in. If timed correctly, it can be stopped before a single attack is placed.

When a mist overlaps on the tank, rotate slowly around the arena to more free space. Be mindful of Howling Blast.

Glacial Spikes is simple enough to dodge by going in a small circle in your area. Be careful not to overlap with other players, or move too quickly. Tanks should do a circle in front of Veras and not around Veras, as sometimes Howling Blast will start during Glacial Spikes, and can be accidentally pointed to the party.

Howling Blast is relatively simple, just keep Veras facing outside the arena. Tanks may need to move during Glacial Spikes and Frigid Mists, but just pay attention to the timer and don’t point it at the party. It can be dodged once he starts casting.

In Adept+, Veras will cast Splintering Ice. When you get the debuff, pay attention to where you are pointing the arrows. Try to position in a way that is predictable, and not pointed directly to your party members. At higher difficulties this ability can one-shot a DPS or healer hit.

Wyrmheart Beginner Route

This route will get you to 111/109 kill score without being too fancy or aggressive. Do what you’re comfortable with and pull less or more depending on your confidence with the difficulty you’re playing. Further details about the pulls you will find below.

63101x Blade of Cithrel, 1x Coldheart Assassin, 1x Eldrin Chronomancer
73132x Deceitful Scholar, 1x Blade of Cithrel

1 – Jump down, skipping the first pack. The Expedition Lookouts will wander into the fight after a little bit of time, try to get the tank to pick them up first. Mind the Rune of Detonation and have the healer bait the Volatile Orb towards the entrance if on Adept+

2 – Grab all three packs and have the tank stand behind the ice just northwest of where the first scholar pack was. The ranged mobs will be line of sighted, bringing them all in close. Once they’re stacked, it’s safe to dodge the Blade of Cithrel’s Slicing Blades

3 – Group the enemies together, facing the Tundra Stalkers away from the party. DPS need to interrupt Wicked Strikes and the tank can get Rune of Detonation.

4a & 4b – It’s relatively common to pull these packs together, but this is the most difficult pull in the above recommended route. 4A has some dangerous abilities that need to be interrupted and while 4B doesn’t add any new kicks it will be a lot of enemies to manage and burn. Feel free to split these apart.

Interrupt the Decripify as the tank pulls towards the bridge and face the enemies away from the party the best you can and don’t forget to interrupt Wicked Strikes and Temporal Manipulation amidst the chaos.

5 – You may need to use a Crowd Control to push / pull the Tundra Stalker together with the pack, but otherwise pretty standard pull.

6 – Another Coldheart Assassin and Eldrin Chronomancer pack, mind the interruptibles.

7 – Pack with two Deceitful Scholars. They generally cast Rune of Destruction at the same time so you can use a group CC to stun them both out of the cast.

Do not pull 6 & 7 together. These are both double-caster packs with pretty nasty effects if you fail to interrupt them, combined with dodging two Volatile Orbs on Adept.
