Barbarian Changes Coming in Season 5

Here are some of the Barbarian changes coming in Diablo 4’s Season 5!

We’ve taken the data from both DonTheCrown‘s and Rob‘s Season 5 sheets and compiled them into actual class changes. Blizzard has confirmed these changes for Season 5 during the content creator roundtable, but the list is incomplete and we’ll need to wait until the official Season 5 patch notes to have a full list of all changes.

Main Stat Scaling

  • Blizzard is adjusting main stat scaling in Season 5. Barbarians will receive 1% damage per 10 main stat. This is because Barbarians and Rogues have more item slots compared to other classes.

Key Passives

  1. UnconstrainedUnconstrained
    • Bonus damage reduced from 75%[x] to 35%[x], so it should read as 60%[x] on tooltip now.
  2. Walking ArsenalWalking Arsenal
    • Bonus damage per weapon type used reduced from 12%[x] to 8%[x].
    • Bonus damage while all three bonuses are active reduced from 20%[x] to 10%[x].
    • Bonus Attack Speed while all three bonuses are active reduced from 20% to 10%.
  3. Unbridled RageUnbridled Rage
    • Bonus damage reduced from 100%[x] to 45%[x].
  4. Gushing WoundsGushing Wounds
    • When causing an enemy to Bleed, you have a chance equal to your Critical Strike Chance to increase the Bleed amount by 70%[x], then by 100%[+] of your Critical Strike Damage.
    • Overpowering a Bleeding enemy creates an explosion that inflicts 120% Bleeding damage over 5 seconds.
    • Potentially no longer scales with The GrandfatherThe Grandfather.

Tempering Affix Changes

  1. Barbarian Protection has been removed.
  2. Flay Duration: Moved back to Weapon from Utility.
  3. Bash Temper reduced by 80% (from 105% to 20%).
  4. Imposing Presence is down to 5% of Life (was 6%).
  5. Close Damage Temper down from 85% to 55%.

  • 10.5-15% Attack Speed
  • 142.5-182.1% Fire & Cold damage
  • Lucky Hit 40% to deal 2,000-4,000 Fire damage
  • Lucky Hit 40% to deal 2,000-4,000 Cold damage
  • Lucky Hit 20-60% Chance to Freeze enemies for 3 seconds

The affixes have been reworked:

  • Attacks reduce Evade Cooldown by 2.5 seconds
  • Evade grants 30% Main Stat for 1.5 seconds
  • 12.5-18% Main Stat
  • 219-300% Ultimate damage
  • 46.5-60% Light Resistance
  • 8-12.5% Damage Reduction from Close Enemies
  • Unique affix unchanged

Fists of FateFists of Fate

The affixes have been reworked:

  • 0.1-8.7% Attack Speed
  • 0.1-8.7% Crit Chance
  • 1-51.8% Lucky Hit Chance
  • Lucky Hit: Up to 1-51.8% Chance to Apply a Random CC effect for 2 seconds.
  • Unique affix unchanged

    • Implicit changed to 130% Vulnerability Damage.
    • Strength: [198-270]
    • Damage to Bleeding: [406-550]%
    • Enhanced Rupture Explosion Size: [52-70]%
    • Rupture Cooldown Reduction: [16-25]%
    • Unclear if Unique Affix flat damage changed.
  2. Battle TranceBattle Trance
    • Crit Chance: [6-8]%
    • Damage Reduction from Close: [8-12.5]%
    • Frenzy: [2-3]
    • Duelist: [4-6]
    • Unique affix increased from 35-45% to 35-55%.
  3. 100,000 Steps100,000 Steps
    • Implicit changed to Evade Grants Fury.
    • Movement Speed: [12.5-18]%
    • Movement Speed per Walking: [5-7]%
    • Damage to Stunned: [82.5-105]%
    • Ground Stomp Size: [46.5-60]%
    • Fury Gain changed to [50-100]
    • Cooldown changed to 10 seconds.
