Further Auction House Changes: Throttling

Blizzard are still working hard on fixing the extremely wonky behavior of the Auction House. We’ve already heard both the short and long-term plans, from adding more hardware at the reset to fixing the issue altogether. However, now there’s an even shorter-term move.

Senior Game producer Tom Ellis is back with more updates on what’s being done. Today Blizzard throttled activities on the AH, trying to slow down requests. This was done so that they can keep it operational until the new hardware is added tomorrow/Wednesday. Players will notice this slowdown in general, but it will affect addons even more, as Ellis explains:

Hopefully the reset’s hardware changes will improve performance for at least a somewhat smooth experience, while we wait for a more permanent fix. You can check out what exactly went wrong in one of Ellis’ previous tweets here.
