Tier 2 Remaster and Original Side-By-Side Comparisons and Rogue Fan Upgrade

The talk of the town for the 20th Anniversary event patch is definitely the remasters of tier 2 armor sets. Even when Blizzard only teased one of the sets, the community was very excited – although who wouldn’t be when it comes to the almighty Judgement Paladin set.

Today we’re taking a look at a direct comparison between the old and upcoming new versions! But that’s not all, as the Rogue armor has been getting some complaints, but a player showcased an easy fix for them!

New and Old and… Even Older?

First off we’re taking a look at the old versions of the tier 2 sets and the new ones. MissQueeney helpfully set up the below image and we can see the changes coming this November.

But those aren’t the “real” originals, we hear you more astute historians say. Yes, that’s right, the old T2 sets aren’t actually the first ones! There were basically placeholder versions of all of them for a long time in Vanilla, as they didn’t get their true form until patch 1.9: The Gates of Ahn’Qiraj. Luckily again, we have a triple comparison ready as well, courtesy of ProtoReddit:

A Distinct Lack of Mystery

The Rogue Bloodfang set has been getting some bad press after the reveal. Specifically, players seem to have a problem with the very visible nature of the Rogue’s face in the new HD version, as well as a distinct lack of smokiness. But, triple-luckily, the community always has a solution! Anckael has come up with a simple solution and added the mystery back to Bloodfang. The left one is the announced remaster, the middle the fan fix, and the right is the old tier 2.

The change to the Rogue set actually seems likely to happen, as we’ve seen armor sets revealed without all of their visual effects present. And if the shroud of darkness wasn’t originally planned, Blizzard may just add it after these awesome player suggestions anyway!
