War Within and SoD Weekly Hotfix Summary, September 30th – October 7th:

We’re back with another week full of changes to World of Warcraft!

This past 7 days saw some class fixes, with the major tuning coming this reset. Specific Delve reagents also got more easy to acquire, so those tinderboxes shouldn’t be as much of a problem. The main chunk of the hotfixes was focused on Mythic+ dungeon and raid tuning, as well as quite a bit of item/trinket adjustments.

In Season of Discovery we saw Blackwing Lair fixes, mostly relating to Nefarian, as well as the usual class tweaks.


Classes

  • Evoker
    • Augmentation
      • Fixed a Scalecommander issue where Mass Eruption would amplify the number of targets struck by the Overlord talent.
      • Fixed an issue where Overlord could apply Bombardments to enemy targets if Mass Eruption was active.
    • Preservation
      • Consume Flame no longer gains double benefit from Versatility.
      • Fixed an issue where Consume Flame was gaining more benefit than intended from Attuned to the Dream.
  • Mage
    • Alliance mages can now use the Mosswool Polymorph variant, as intended.
  • Warlock
    • Diabolist: Fixed an issue where Overlord, Mother of Chaos, or Pit Lord could aggro nearby enemies.
    • Diabolist: Fixed an issue where Flames of Xoroth was providing much higher of a benefit than intended.
    • Hellcaller: Fixed an issue where Xalan’s Ferocity was providing much higher benefit than intended.
    • Hellcaller: Fixed an issue where Xalan’s Cruelty was providing much higher benefit than intended.
    • Fixed an issue where Houndmaster’s Gambit was not appearing on Dreadstalkers.
    • Fixed an issue where Demonic Brutality was not functioning.
    • Fixed an issue where Improved Demonic Tactics would not increase your pet’s critical strike chance.
    • Heavy Trunks in a Tier 6 delve now have a chance to grant 1 to 2 reagents (was 1 only).
    • Heavy Trunks in a Tier 7 delve now have a chance to grant 1 to 3 reagents (was 1 only).
    • Heavy Trunks in a Tier 8 delve and above now have a chance to grant 2 to 3 reagents (was 1 only).
    • Fixed an issue where fleeing Nightfall Initiates could fail to count for defeating an enemy group influenced by Zekvir.
    • Destruction
      • Fixed a Diabolist issue where Ruination would consume Crashing Chaos.
      • Fixed an issue where Avatar of Destruction would consume 2 stacks of Crashing Chaos.

Delves

  • Fixed an issue where Brann’s Gathering Tools could fail to gather rewards.
  • Fixed an issue where Brann’s Gathering Tools could fail to gather rewards.
  • The following list of delve sourced reagents can now be found in any delve’s Heavy Trunks:

    • Increased Web General Ab’enar’s fire area of effect visual on Burning Cart to match its damaging area of effect.

Dungeons and Raids

Mythic+

  • Mythic+ Affixes
    • Xal’atath’s Bargain now affects the cooldowns of additional spells.
    • Xal’atath’s Bargain: Voidbound no longer increases Void Emissary health.
      • Developers’ notes: This was a reversal of a change we recently made. Blessing from Beyond still grants players 50% increased cooldown reduction.
    • Updated Xal’atath’s Bargain: Voidbound’s aura description to correctly reflect the cooldown reduction granted.
  • Grim Batol
    • Addressed an issue where Drahga Shadowburner’s encounter can reset unexpectedly.
    • Drahga Shadowburner
      • Improved the visibility of Twilight Wind.
      • Movement speed of the Twilight Wind reduced by 15%.
      • Movement speed reduction to players inside the area trigger reduced to 10%.
      • Fixed an issue that allowed players to be hit multiple times by a Twilight Wind.
    • Mutated Hatchling
      • Melee damage reduced by 66%.
      • Melee attacks can no longer critically strike.
    • Valiona
      • Health reduced by 13%.
    • Erudax
      • Abyssal Corruption now targets 2 players (was 3).
    • Twilight Lavabender
      • Scorching Heat’s damage reduced by 25%.
  • Mists of Tirna Scithe
    • Addressed an issue where Volatile Acid could not be removed by Magic immunities.
  • Siege of Boralus
    • Addressed an issue where Dread Captain Lockwood can have second wave of adds spawn during intermission.
    • Scrimshaw Gutter
      • No longer flees at low health.
    • Chopper Redhook
      • Players now gain a short immunity to Irontide Cleaver’s Heavy Slash after suffering from Iron Hook.
    • Irontide Raider and Ashvane Commander
      • Adjusted the timings of Iron Hook and Azerite Charge.
  • The Dawnbreaker
    • Addressed an issue where Void Emissary can cause Speaker Shadowcrown to reset.
    • Fixed an issue where players couldn’t fly after defeating Anub’ikkaj and before engaging in combat with Rasha’nan.
    • Rashanan
      • Fixed an issue where Shadowstep and Feral Lunge couldn’t be used during phase 2.
  • The Stonevault
    • The door to Master Machinists will no longer erroneously close for players before starting the fight.
    • Rocksmasher
      • Now casts Smash Rock less frequently.
    • Turned Speaker
      • Now casts Censoring Gear less frequently.
    • Void Speaker Eirich
      • Fixed an issue where Entropy can spawn in the air if the targeted player is jumping.

Raid

  • Nerub-ar Palace
    • Broodtwister Ovi’nax
      • Broodtwister Ovi’nax health reduced by 15% on Mythic difficulty.
      • Experimental Dosage duration increased to 8 seconds on Mythic difficulty.
      • Poison Burst cast time increased to 4 seconds on Mythic difficulty.
      • Volatile Concoction periodic damage reduced by 30% on Mythic difficulty.
      • Mutation: Accelerated increases movement speed of Blood Parasites by 10% every 2 seconds (was every 1 second) on Heroic and Mythic difficulties.
      • Blood Parasites are no longer immune to crowd control while casting Infest.
      • Fixed an issue where Blood Parasites would sometimes melee players.
      • Vile Discharge damage reduced by 20% on Mythic difficulty.
    • Nexus-Princess Ky’veza
      • Health reduced by 10% on Mythic difficulty.
      • Chasmal Gash now persists through death on all difficulties.
      • Assassination damage reduced by 20% on Mythic difficulty.
      • Twilight Massacre damage reduced by 15% on Mythic difficulty.
      • Queensbane damage over time effect reduced by 17% on Mythic difficulty.
      • Queensbane expiration damage reduced by 25% on Mythic difficulty.
      • Starless Night damage reduced by 15% on Mythic difficulty.
      • Eternal Night damage reduced by 15% on Mythic difficulty.
      • Fixed an issue causing Assassination and Twilight Massacre to pierce some immunities on all difficulties.
    • The Silken Court
      • Motes will now spawn more reliably at each player’s exact location.
    • Queen Ansurek
      • Adjusted the visual of Web Blades to more closely match the damage event timing.
      • Fixed an issue specific to Raid Finder that sometimes caused pets and guardians to not follow their owner when traveling between platforms in Phase 2.

Items

  • Ovi’nax’s Mercurial Egg effects increased by 5%.
  • Fixed an issue where purchasing Shackled Shadow would remove Vermillion Imperial Lynx from Auralia Steelstrike’s offerings.
  • Aberrant Spellforge damage and Haste effects increased by 5%.
  • Ovi’nax’s Mercurial Egg effects increased by 5%.
  • Throngus’s Finger dodge increased by 25%.
  • Overclocked Gear-a-Rang Launcher damage increased by 5%.
  • Twin Fang Instruments damage increased by 10%.
  • High Speaker’s Accretion intellect effect increased by 25%.

Player versus Player

  • Fixed an issue where quest credit was not being properly granted for “Preserving Solo”.
  • Mage
    • Frost
      • Ice Wall can no longer be used in the capital city Dornogal.

Professions

  • Jewelcrafting
    • Fixed an issue that prevented Magnificent Jeweler’s Setting and Nerubian Gemweaver from functioning on Timewalking Raid items. This fix is not retroactive.

Quests

  • Reduced the health, armor, and damage of Lord Banehollow for the quest “When Revenge Burns Green”.

 

Season of Discovery

  • Fixed an issue where the changing of the Bonus Weekly Affix didn’t align correctly with regional weekly reset times.
  • Losses in Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin again award 1 Mark of Honor (was 2).
    • Developers’ notes: We’ve ended this experiment, as it provided too much incentive to lose quickly and get into another match.
  • Blessing of Shirvallah should no longer buff the bad guys in Zul’Gurub.
  • Addressed an issue that could cause the Cenarion Hold hitching post to be unusable during the hunter quest “Everyone Knows That Bugs Can’t Fly.”
  • Blackwing Lair
    • Fixed an issue that would cause players killed in the first phase of the Nefarian fight to be ineligible for the bonus chest loot.
    • Fixed an issue that occasionally prevented Nefarian from respawning after the raid wiped in Phase 2.
    • Cloak of Draconic Might and Essence Gatherer have been updated to their intended item level 75 (was item level 70).
      • For Cloak of Draconic Might, this increased its armor and stats slightly.
      • For Essence Gatherer, this increased its damage and stats slightly.
    • Fixed an issue that occasionally prevented the Trials from triggering after a soft reset in Blackwing Lair.
    • Vaelastrasz the Corrupt
      • Players’ own bonus damage modifiers will no longer amplify the damaging effects of Burning Adrenaline.
  • Molten Core
    • Shazzrah will no longer create two clones on Heat 3.
  • Fixed an issue where the tier 1 6-piece armor set bonus was cancelling Mage Armor and Molten Armor buffs when the Mage traveled between zones and instances.
  • Players are now able to restart “Essence of Fire” quest after abandoning it. Additionally, “Essence of Fire” can be picked up from Jennea Cannon or Oran Snakewrithe if previously abandoned, so long as players retain an item from that quest.
  • Priest
    • Fixed the trinket Cassandra’s Tome so that critical strike chance is increased every time Penance heals or deals damage (was the first per cast), Holy Nova will always consume a charge, even if it only heals, and Circle of Healing will now benefit from the increased critical strike chance and consume the effect when it does.
    • Inner Focus now properly increases the critical strike chance of Circle of Healing.
  • Shaman
    • The Static Shock rune no longer requires multiple players to obtain.
  • Warlock
    • Doan Karhan can now be spoken to outside of Demon Fall Canyon regardless of which step of “The Final Test” the player is on.
    • Abandoning “The Final Test” won’t destroy the Scythe of Chaos now.
  • Warrior
    • Fixed an issue with the tooltips on Booming Voice and Thunder Clap not updating to the intended functionality.
