Beloved Bot-Buster Quits Career Over Death Threats

The Classic community’s beloved bot-buster is stepping down from his honorable work after receiving numerous death threats. Madskillzzhc has been relentlessly taking down bots in Classic Hardcore over the past few months. Sharing his success on YouTube brought him significant attention, but also the wrath of WoW premiere plague, botters.

A Sad Day When the Bad Guys Won

In case you aren’t familiar with his work, Madskillzzhc has been posting his bot-hunting efforts to Youtube for around 2 months now. He’s playing on Hardcore servers, so a bot kill is worth a lot, as they have to start all over. This can be a pretty big hit to the bot owner’s profits, especially with higher-level characters being taken out. And when you mess with these kinds of people’s profits, well, they tend to get mad.

After receiving constant death threats and having his personal information exposed, he’s learned just how profitable these large botting operations can be. In his words:
“I know enough about the dark web and the things you can purchase online to know that I’ve reached my limit. I’m out.”

Madskillzzhc will no longer create videos to prioritize the safety of himself and his family. He ended his final video with a heartfelt message:
“Thank you guys for watching, and I will not be seeing you in the next one.”

The Community is Furious

Players are outraged that someone trying to help the community has been forced to quit under such circumstances. Many share his passion and have vowed to continue his mission. This situation reignites the ongoing (or rather never-ending) debate: can Blizzard effectively tackle botting? As a company of its size, shouldn’t it do more to combat this issue once and for all?

Here’s what the community is saying:

So the bad guys won today, but hopefully a whole lot more of them can be taken out thanks to Madskillzzhc‘s sacrifice. So kill a bot today and do your part!
