Player Finds Three Sealed Collector’s Editions of Both Burning Crusade and WotLK They Forgot in Their Attic!

There’s collecting and then there’s collecting. This is definitely a weird one, as a player just came upon six WoW collector’s editions in their attic when moving!

Oh, It’s Actually FIVE Collector’s Editions Each?!

After completely forgetting about them for years, No_Shift1199 came upon three collector’s editions for Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King in their attic when moving house. That’s six completely sealed boxes of WoW collector’s editions just sitting there for 16 – 18 years!

When asked the obvious question: WHAT?, No_Shift1199 explained just how they got there. And yes, the simply forgetting about them part is very much real, but the “why the hell do you have three collector’s editions of the two expansions” part is more interesting. It was actually FIVE collector’s editions, as it turns out. No_Shift1199, coming from EverQuest, decided to run a full group’s worth of multiple characters on multiple accounts. And, naturally, that means buying collector’s editions for all the accounts because:

So they “only” used two of the collector’s editions for both expansions, leaving the rest to be forgotten in the attic. The story probably has a happy ending, as the boxes are worth a pretty penny today. The BC ones go for around $500, while WotLK goes for around $300-800. Judging by their younger days purchasing habits, we’ll assume No_Shift1199 probably doesn’t need the money!

What are the rarest gaming-related finds you’ve discovered when moving or similar?
