Hilarious Genshin Impat Bug Causes Ifa to Use Other Weapons

A strange but amusing bug has emerged in Genshin Impact‘s Version 5.6 update involving the new 4-star character Ifa. While Ifa is meant to wield a gun model instead of his Catalyst, a visual bug is causing players to see him holding a traditional Catalyst model instead. The result? A completely out-of-place animation that has him channeling power through a dainty floating book instead of his firearm.

What’s Going On With Ifa’s Catalyst Model?

The bug seems to override Ifa’s intended unique gun-styled Catalyst, which was part of his distinct design and aesthetic. The video showcases that swapping weapons with Ifa reverts his weapon to one of the older Catalyst models typically seen on catalyst characters like Yae or Sucrose. It’s jarring, but also incredibly funny, as it completely breaks the immersion of Ifa’s combat.

While purely visual, this issue stands out due to how heavily Genshin Impact has focused on weapon aesthetics recently, especially with characters like Arlecchino receiving unique animations and weapon effects.

Other Bugs in Genshin Impact Version 5.6

On top of this Ifa bug, several other bugs have been reported through the official Known Issues & Updates post on hoyolab. These issues are:

• Fixes an issue whereby there is a chance that Ororon’s Nightsoul Points would be abnormally consumed multiple times when his Hypersense effect deals an instance of DMG to an opponent.
• Fixes an issue whereby abnormalities would occur when Escoffier performs certain actions (such as sitting down or playing an instrument).
• Fixes an issue in Genius Invokation TCG whereby after playing the card “Collective of Plenty,” the opposing player’s character would gain the “Workout” status abnormally when preparing their Skill.
