On Friday, May 30, 2025, Intrepid Studios hosted their monthly development update via a live stream (full video below). The update began with an overview of the bug-reporting processes and increasing awareness on how testers can submit any feedback and bugs to the development team while their in-game, and how important this feedback is for the development of the game.
Then, the team introduced an overview and “sneak peek” to the key mechanics for the Summoner archetype – the pet system. Additional information on how “summons” work, along with a view pieces of concept art for future summons can be found in our previous post here.
Ashes of Creation Economy Updates
One of the major pieces of feedback that the community has been pushing for updates on is regarding the current state of the economy in the game – which is a bit rough. The overall valuation of certain items compared to others are astronomical, and the economy and overall crafting system this phase has been in a place that needs change.
Luckily, the team acknowledged this, and shared that there will be maybe changes to the economy, which will also include a complete recipe rework, improved gatherable spawns, and a more intuitive onboarding experience for new crafters.
Transition to Unreal Engine Upgrades
During the update, the team also shared an overview of how they plan on transitioning to Unreal Engine upgrades, sharing a glance at the performance improvements and development benefits they look for with these types of upgrades. We can expect that major improvements in these areas are coming soon with the upcoming upgrades to Unreal Engine.
