There has been a lot of speculation about the final talent in the Horrific Visions upgrade tree. Gift of the Titans is the last stop in the Hourglass of Horrific Visions buffs. It was present in the original Battle for Azeroth Visions as well, but it was missing from the rework in 11.1.5. However, it seems things have changed, and it’s back/was just timegated all along!
A Welcome Gift
Players were pretty confused when this major buff was missing from the Hourglass. Doubly so, considering it was present in both the 11.1.5 PTR before launch. And it’s even there on the 11.1.7 PTR now! There was a lot of discussion on whether it’s even needed, but now it seems we have a definitive answer.
Blizzard stealthily added the final talent to the tree with this week’s reset, giving players a boost to Sanity management and speed with no word in patch notes or hotfixes. As spotted by minimaxir, the talent just appeared with the NA reset. EU players still have to wait until tomorrow morning to get it with the weekly reset.
There are many opinions on why it wasn’t there before as an option, just greyed out with the timing of the unlock present. Some think Blizzard didn’t want players to just wait on the buff to try out higher mask clear runs. Others believe it was a mechanical issue, as characters had the effect active on the PTR without having unlocked it, and that Blizzard removed it entirely to prevent this from happening on live servers.
In terms of usage, it should work the same as back in Battle for Azeroth, proccing instantly after a kill, with an internal cooldown.
Whatever the reason for its absence, it’s back now! So get to those 8-mask clears if you haven’t already, as they are now easier than ever!
