We skipped a week in our dungeon spec popularity overview, so let’s see if the changes get bigger in a two-week timespan.
The Data
The data used in this article comes from Raider.IO, taking into account all Mythic+ runs across all levels of play. The data is focused on this past reset and not on the season as a whole.
The Most Popular Specs in Mythic+
As it turns out, our one-week absence didn’t really change much. The meta is very much set, as we saw in this week’s DPS log rankings, and it’s very nicely illustrated here. We see a 0.1% drop for Retribution over the two-week period, as well as no change whatsoever for Vengeance or Discipline. Outside the top 3 we see Resto Shaman picking up some speed and gaining 0.3% of the overall population, with
Arcane also rising quite a bit, moving past Marksmanship with the biggest increase, 0.5%. Unholy got a tiny bump, the same as Protection Paladin, and despite Holy being closer to the bottom of the list, it’s easy to see why Paladin is the most played class overall, as we saw here. Augmentation is right back to the bottom, losing that 0.3% bump after it’s buff, since the old tier 2-set set combo was nerfed. Subtlety remains at the bottom, but does get a 0.1% increase.

Here’s a look by key level, where we can see a 22 completed, with the most powerful group combo. The higher keys are also getting more diverse, as we jump from only 6 specs present in 21s to 17!

And here are the popularity numbers themselves, including the total number of runs this reset.

Group Composition Popularity
The top comp continues to rise, gaining another 1.2% at 27.2. The second most popular group, featuring Retribution instead of Unholy, also rises, with an almost 2% bump! Even the third group gets some traction, rising around half a percent, as the top 3 siphons off everyone else.
