We have a couple of blue posts where Blizzard addresses player questions and issues related to the Anniversary realm Phase 5 launch.
First off, Blackwing Lair has been set to a daily lockout. This is to help players who inadvertently got stuck unable to complete a key quest in the Scarab Lord chain due to zoning into BWL before the new content was available. The raid will go back to its regular weekly lockout on the 12th.
With the release of the Ahn’Qiraj War Effort content, a bug caused a small number of players who entered Blackwing Lair just before the content was unlocked to be unable to complete the quest “Only One May Rise”.
To address this and allow affected players to complete “Only One May Rise”, we are temporarily updating Blackwing Lair to have a daily reset.
Blackwing Lair will revert to having its standard 7 day reset period at 23:00 UTC on 7/12/2025 for all regions. That will be 4:00 p.m. PDT / 7:00 p.m. EDT in this region.
Players were also wondering when the actual War Effort would start, as it did not simply show up when announced. Blizzard clarified that players on a realm need to complete one of the quests in the Scarab Lord quest chain to enable it.
The AQ War Effort starts when players turn in a certain quest in Cenarion Hold; there was not a patch.
We’re seeing it started on some realms. For example, it just started on Dreamscythe.
