Who’s Voiced in Genshin Impact 5.8? The Traveler Still Isn’t Talking

With Genshin Impact Version 5.8 now fully released, fans diving into new quests and events have quickly noticed a familiar issue: Your Traveler is still unvoiced. While the strike that disrupted HoYoverse’s voice acting schedules has now ended, the aftermath continues to linger even on characters who confirmed to be coming back a while ago. Some actors have returned to voice their characters. Others have been quietly replaced. And some, like the English VA for the Lumine/Aether, remain mostly absent from their roles at this moment in time.

Despite these issues, 5.8 does still feature a surprisingly decent amount of voice acting – just not across the board. A new fan-compiled breakdown showcases the current status of characters have speaking roles.

While this provides the status of every character, we also have an outline of what specifically has changed recently and how voiced recent quests are. If want to know exactly who’s been left mute and who’s back in the booth, you can view the full voice cast comparison below.

Who Has Voice Lines in Version 5.8?

  • Ineffa’s Story Quest is fully voiced, including her own lines and all supporting characters.
  • The Summer Event is also fully voiced, giving players a break from the silence of previous updates.
  • The Paralogism Mondstadt Quest features several voices: Venti, Razor, Bennett, Dahlia, Eula, and even Alice are all voiced. However, nearly every other Mondstadt character – as well as Lumine/Aether – remain completely unvoiced.
  • In the Archon Quest “A Space and Time for You”, the Traveler is still silent. The Abyss twin, however, does speak. Dainsleif is also present – but completely unvoiced, with no signs of change anytime soon.

Some players may be a little frustrated to hear after waiting so long that only half of the traveler is voiced. That half being the Abyss twin, the non-playable Traveler.

Should You Hold Off on A Space and Time for You?

With Version 6.0 coming in just over a month, some players are wondering if they should hold off on completing these quests in the hope that voice lines may be patched in later. Given that we know Lumine and Aether are back in the studio we can expect them to be fully caught up on voices by 6.0.

That being said, Dainsleif’s current Voice Acting status is woefully up in the air, the latest news being that Yuri Lowenthal, the voice of Dainsleif would “love to but they have to ask to come back first”. This being an incredibly strange statement considering the strike for HoYoverse games can be more considered a “collective refusal to work”. This ultimately means we have no clue if/when Dainsleif will be returning.

If you’re hoping for a more complete experience, you could wait. But for those who care more about story progression than immersion as well as being ready to play Nod-Krai on release, now’s the time to just play through it and bite the bullet.
