A new free 4-star weapon has arrived in Genshin Impact‘s Version Luna I update: Moonweaver’s Dawn, a sword that rewards players for fully completing the World Quest line in the new Hiisi Island sub-region. This elegant blade is obtained by completing a multi-part world quest series ending in Echoes of an Unfinished Past, found as part of the Polkka Beneath the Moon’s Oracle storyline.
To unlock Moonweaver’s Dawn, you’ll need to complete a series of interconnected world quests scattered throughout the island. These quests slowly piece together the lore behind the island’s long-forgotten history and finally end in you visiting the final location you will need to get 100% completion on Hiisi Island.
We’ve prepared a brief map showcasing all of the relevant objectives and quests as well as the order needed. Quests 1-4 can be completed in any order while quest no.5 is the one that ties them all together.
If you are ever stuck with these missions, there is another NPC near quest location 5 which does provide a few brief hints. But for the most part the missions are straightforward and what you normally expect from a World Quest chain in Genshin Impact.
Obtaining Moonweaver’s Dawn
When on the final quest in this Hiisi Island World Quest chain, you will unlock access to the final area in Hiisi Island. To avoid any spoilers, the sword will not be immediately accessible once found. Instead, after speaking to a few more NPC’s it will then be awared to you.
That being said, this 4-Star Sword Moonweaver’s Dawn does not go straight into your inventory. Players need to return to the location they first found it and then pick it up themselves for Moonweaver’s Dawn to go into their inventory.
About Moonweaver’s Dawn
Moonweaver’s Dawn has the following effect at R1:
“Increases Elemental Burst DMG by 20%. When the equipping character’s Energy Capacity does not exceed 60/40, their Elemental Burst DMG is increased by an additional 16%/28%.”
While it is a versatile weapon featuring Elemental Burst DMG scaling, this weapon does have quite the strict restriction needing your energy to not exceed 60/40 energy.
Good Characters for Moonweaver’s Dawn?
This weapon is an excellent F2P option for people lacking many sword options. ATK % isn’t often the most desired stat choice on a weapon but at least contributes to damage. The main requirements for this weapon though are characters with less than 60/40 energy.
Your best options are going to be:
- Skirk (Burst Playstyle, R5 Moonweavers better than Mistsplitter)
- Keqing
- Kaeya
- Ayaka (But not a great option)
Many players are also speculating that this may be a good sword for Durin. While we know very little about Durin we know he is a Pyro Sword user so it adds up at the very least. Alternatively, Moonweaver’s Dawn could be for any of the other upcomming characters in Nod-Krai.

How to Get Refinement Materials for Moonweaver’s Dawn?
Currently, as of writing in Luna I/6.0 players are unable to unlock any refinement materials for Moonweaver’s Dawn. This either could be because it is a gacha weapon that will eventually show up on another banner or it could be that Moonweaver’s Dawn will be available as a reward for future World Quest.
We won’t know for certain until we see this weapon appear again.
