While soloing a Horrific Vision is pretty normal, and probably the way most do the content, one player decided to add a bit of spice to the proceedings!
Eight Masks, Four Anchors
A simple 8 mask solo just wasn’t enough for Wyolin, as they wanted to go for the full difficulty. They set up four characters to just sit there and AFK, and headed into Orgrimmar’s Vision to clear it with all the masks active! In case you weren’t aware, the enemies in Horrific Visions scale to the number of players. So, this was quite the undertaking. It also wasn’t Wyolin‘s first time doing this either, as they had already done the same back in the original Battle for Azeroth Horrific Visions!
Unsurprisingly, the spec of choice was Vengeance Demon Hunter, enabling some skips and offering a lot of tankiness. The Madness modifiers were Madness: Leaden Foot and
Madness: Haunting Shadows in the Lost zone,
Madness: Promised Power and
Madness: Desynchronized for the Tainted zone, as well as
Madness: Entomophobia and
Madness: Scorched Feet in the Corrupted zone.
A LONG Clear
With the tank choice, as you can imagine, the DPS wasn’t quite on par. And so the run was a very lengthy one, taking almost exactly an hour to get done! This week’s surprise addition of Gift of the Titans helped with the Sanity pressure as well.
You can find the talents build 46 seconds into the video. Let’s take a look at the run (the framerate improves after less than a minute, so don’t worry):
A Longer Stormwind Clear, Without the Gift
Update: as it turns out, it is very much doable without Gift of the Titans! Nichpal took on the Stormwind Vision last week with the same 4 AFKers in tow! He managed the clea, but it took quite a bit longer, 1 hour and 35 minutes! Let’s take a look at the Protection paladin run.
No special rewards, just the great feeling of getting a personal challenge done. There are many things to do in World of Warcraft that aren’t part of the endgame or anything explicit like that. And it’s always great to see and share players doing exactly this type of content!
So thanks to Wyolin and nichpal for sharing their journey and accomplishment with us!
