There’s been a lot of talk about the new Amani trolls and their models specifically. Blizzard have already done one round of changes to them after player feedback, and we know we’re getting them as a customization option for Darkspear trolls in the expansion.
Not an Allied Race (Yet?)
The big assumption coming out of the Midnight announcements/Alpha was that the next Allied Race after the expansion’s launch will indeed be the new Amani troll models. We’re getting Haranir with the launch but it seems fairly obvious that they would be next, considering the new models and Zul’Aman storyline. However, an achievement from the zone slightly squashed those assumptions, as players will be able to unlock the new troll look as a cosmetic option for regular trolls! Living Amani Legend has players completing the various storylines of Zul’Aman and its dungeon, unlocking the customization options. These are just skin colors and hairstyles, however, not a full model change.
So while it’s not looking likely that we get a full Allied Race, it’s not entirely out of the question later down the line, considering there aren’t that many customization options for the Darkspear version.
The Customization
MrGM has taken a look at all the customizations currently in the game for the race, for the NPCs! He also discusses the possibility of getting the Amani as an Allied Race down the line anyway, and also shares the specific customizations for the Darkspear trolls at the end.
