Nintendo tweeted one word, “Vibing”, and Animal Crossing fans are already spiraling (in the best way). A few days ago, the official @NintendoAmerica Twitter/X account dropped an 8-second video of a chill Animal Crossing: New Horizons scene… paired only with the word “vibing” and the hashtag #AnimalCrossingNewHorizons.

But as any long-time Animal Crossing player knows, that’s more than enough to trigger full-on speculation mode.
New Horizons… Again?
After years of silence and the abrupt end to New Horizons’ major updates following the 2021 Happy Home Paradise DLC, many players assumed the game was effectively done.
But now, with this sudden, unexplained post, we are hoping:
- Is this a soft teaser for the next Animal Crossing game?
- Could New Horizons be getting surprise content again?
- Or is Nintendo just messing with us… again?
Regardless of intent, the community has exploded with reactions, theories, and (let’s be honest) chaotic Animal Crossing memes.
What Is Actually Going On?
So far, Nintendo has not confirmed anything. No news of DLC, updates, or a sequel. But with the Nintendo Switch 2 launching a few weeks ago, the timing does feel suspiciously right for early marketing breadcrumbs.
Plus, Animal Crossing is one of Nintendo’s best-selling franchises ever. So players have not stopped hoping for a true next-gen follow-up.
