Since the launch of season 5 last week, players have already encountered numerous bugs, including a potential issue with Greater Affixes and Masterworking, where specific affixes do not roll higher, regardless of the upgrade method.
As with any new season, minor bugs are to be expected. However, over the course of this season so far, some players have noticed that great affixes and Masterworking had no effect on the affix values on their gear.
A Reddit post highlights this issue, with several comments indicating that there are items that appear to not work as intended:
Since the previous season, there have also been reports of item rolls, including gear and skill upgrades, not functioning properly or changing their values even after applying a rank increase.
Currently, players are unsure whether there are hard caps on certain affixes or whether there is a problem causing some affix values to remain unchanged despite Greater Affixes or Masterworking. For example, multiple players have reported that their Critical Hit values stay the same even after Masterworking.
The Diablo 4 Team is aware of issues with Greater Affixes, such as the Infernal Hordes Greater Affix chest not rewarding a guaranteed GA drop, and is working on a fix. However, there is no indication that the problem with values not being upgraded has been investigated yet.
