One of the most sought-after classes coming soon to Chrono Odyssey is the Assassin class. In the first closed beta test (CBT), players were limited to only testing out three classes – Swordsman, Ranger, and Berserker. As of today, we have very limited information for the remaining three classes, which includes Sorcerer, Paladin, and of course, Assassin.
There is a large amount of excitement and buzz already for these remaining classes, and there seems to be an extreme amount of hype around one class specifically – the Assassin. When it comes to the Assassin class, we may not have all the specific details about what will be included in this class, and when it will be available, but we do have enough to share a quick preview of what we know today, how some of the skills look, and what we can expect to see from this class.

Assassin Weapon Options
Although players haven’t had the chance to test out the Assassin class yet, we do know what the three weapons are that this class specializes in: the Sabre, Wrist Blades, and Musket. Similar to the Ranger class, it seems like this class will have the flexibility of utilizing both a melee weapon and a ranged weapon, making it nice balance between different types of gameplays.
After the first CBT, players seemed to quickly recognize an advantage early on for ranged players when it came to taking down the different Chrono Gate bosses. As a Ranger with a Bow or Crossbow, players were able to keep their distance and essentially kite the boss and defeat them over a long period of time, regardless of their level or gear. When it comes to the melee classes, they were forced to get up close and personal due to their weapon options, which meant their overall level and gear had a bit more of an impact on these solo boss challenges.
With the Assassin having the ability to utilize both melee and ranged weapons in combat, it seems like it will not only be a fast fan favorite, but also a very effective class to choose in both PvE and PvP content.
Assassin Skills & Abilities
Thanks to many of our friends over at the Chrono Odyssey Reddit thread, we’ve been able to compile a handful of Assassin-related details that help paint a better picture of what type of skills and abilities the Assassin class will include. For starters, the Assassin class itself was actually teased a bit in some of the official Chrono Odyssey videos and trailers that were recently published.
Below is a quick Reddit post that compiled all of these skills and abilities that were previously showcased in a single video.
Additionally, one player was actually able to data mine the many skills associated with each weapon for each of the three remaining classes – the links for each of those can be found on Reddit here.
It’s important to note though that although this information was datamined, none of these skills and abilities have been confirmed yet, so there’s still a good chance that many of these skills (and their damage values) will be adjusted before we actually gain access to the Assassin class.
Expectations of the Assassin Class in Chrono Odyssey
When it comes to expectations, players are expecting the Assassin class to be the closest thing to a “Rogue” as possible in Chrono Odyssey. Based on overall conversations and feedback gathered thus far, it seems like the player base expect this class to be flexible, stealthy, and a DPS-oriented class that specializes moreso in single-target combat scenarios.
As we can see from the skills previews above, we saw multiple situations where the Assassin performed some sort of acrobatic move and even had some abilities that created a gap between them and their opponent (previewed from the powerful musket ability showcased).
Although we may have many thoughts ane expectations on what should be included in this class, we won’t have any true, final answers until players can start testing out this class form themselves.
Fingers crossed that this class, as well as Sorcerer and Paladin, are available for testing soon!
