Battlefield 6 Becomes Biggest Launch In Franchise History

Battlefield 6 sold over 7 million copies in the first three days after release, making it the biggest launch in franchise history. The statistics were shared in a press release by Electronic Arts. It was also revealed that over 172 million matches were played during the Open Beta.

The press release also revealed more information about the roadmap of Battlefield 6. Season 1 is set to begin on October 28 with Rogue Ops, which will also feature a new map. The new map is called Blackwell Fields and would showcase the intensity to the maximum in the new 4v4 mode.

Battlefield 6’s Season 1 Update

More seasonal content for Season 1 will also be released consistently till the end of this year. Byron Beede, the General Manager of Battlefield, thanked the players for their overwhelming support since the Open Beta. Vince Zampella, the Executive Vice President, also showcased their gratitude and appreciated the players for Battlefield 6’s “momentous launch.”

Battlefield 6 released on 10 October on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game has also been a massive success on Steam after reaching a peak player count of over 747,000 players shortly after its launch. Battlefield 6 has also managed to keep the average concurrent player count above 200,000 since its launch to date.

Alongside its massive success on PC, the game is also quite popular on consoles. The press release revealed that the Open Beta alone was watched for over 15 million hours on different streaming services while also accumulating more players than the franchise had ever seen.

It remains to be seen if Battlefield 6 will be able to maintain its popularity and success in the coming days, but for now, it appears that EA has a clear roadmap ahead.
