They have a reputation for pushing the limits of game design, and creating stories that are treasured!
The Witcher IV: Full Steam Ahead

As mentioned before, Polish media outlet Parkiet interviewed Piotr Nielubowicz, CFO of CD Projekt Red. He shared significant updates on their current plans. First on the list is The Witcher IV, which is moving forward at full speed. According to Nielubowicz, the game is not expected to release before the end of 2026. The studio has very specific goals for this next installment:
“We aim to go even higher with every game, and this also applies to the fourth installment.”
“We believe The Witcher IV is designed to be on a grand scale.”
Currently, over 400 developers are working on The Witcher IV, reflecting the studio’s dedication to delivering a next-generation RPG experience.
Cyberpunk Orion: A Dynamic New Era

Witcher IV is not the only project they work on. On the Cyberpunk front, CD Projekt Red is already deep into development for Cyberpunk Orion, the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.
Over 90 developers are currently working on the project at the Boston studio! With plans to expand the team to 160 members by the end of 2025.
Nielubowicz described Cyberpunk Orion as: “the most dynamic project currently in progress.” He shared that it is about to enter the pre-production phase. The plans and objectives for the game are expected to be “significantly expanded.” This hints at a much bigger and more complete world than its predecessor.
Project Hadar: A New IP Takes Shape

While The Witcher IV and Cyberpunk Orion are in full swing, CD Projekt Red is also quietly advancing its brand-new IP, Project HADAR. Nielubowicz mentioned that the project is slowly gaining momentum and has already moved past its initial phases. Although details remain a mystery, the studio’s focus on building this new universe signals big plans for the future!
Independence Above All
CD Projekt Red also addressed rumors of acquisitions or buyouts, with a firm stance against both. The company has no interest in acquiring other studios for expansion, stating:
“Acquisitions are not necessary for the future development of the group.”
Additionally, the studio made it clear that it has no intention of being acquired by any external company either:
“CD Projekt Red wants to remain independent and conquer the world on our own terms. We are in a comfortable position. We highly appreciate our freedom and the fact that we do not have to accept decisions made in foreign headquarters.“
With ambitious plans for The Witcher IV, Cyberpunk Orion, and the mysterious Project HADAR, CD Projekt Red is clearly setting its hopes high for the future.
