Diablo 4 Patch 1.1.1 Campfire Chat: July 28th

A campfire chat about Patch 1.1.1 is taking place later today. We will be live-blogging it as always and also have the highlights posted down below.

Patch 1.1.1 Release Date

Diablo 4 Patch 1.1.1 will release on August 8. The patch notes will be published on August 2.

Highlights

  • For the Sorcerer, they are looking into reducing kiss/curse mechanics as well as increasing their survivability.
  • For the Barbarians, they are focusing on improving the early game, as well as increasing fury regen from basic skills. They are also going to make Uniques more attractive.
  • Here’s an example of how Hellhammer will be updated in Patch 1.1.1. They are changing the damage to crowd-controlled enemies affix into to critical strike damage.
  • Updating Barbarian / Sorcerer Uniques will be a priority in the patch.
  • Greater Chain LightningGreater Chain Lightning will deal bonus damage while bouncing off anything.
  • Vulnerable and crit are very strong right now, and so the long-term priority is to bring other damage sources closer together. They want the various damage types to have parity in future patches.
  • They also want to add scaling to builds that do not scale well. Legendary powers that spawn various things are affected by that. These work well in the early game, but are weak in the late game.
  • Patch notes for 1.1.1 are coming next Wednesday, August 2.

Q&A Segment

  • They are making changes to crowd control to make it more fun.
  • Imperfectly BalancedImperfectly Balanced will be addressed in Patch 1.1.1.
  • The idea is to make Resistances impactful/meaningful, when you stack it, you’re going to see reduced damage from a certain spell type, but they don’t want bosses to deal no damage to you because you stack Resistances.
  • Mounts will be improved, the boost does not stack properly now due to a bug. This will be fixed soon.
  • VRAM issues will be fixed in Patch 1.1.1.
  • Overpower naturally happens and you have different vectors to scale it. You can never change the baseline value, which is a design choice.
  • Zooming in/out may be discussed in a future campfire with the Engineering team.
  • The team’s long-term commitment is to bring viability to as many builds as possible.

We’ve already gone over the things the devs announced are coming in patch 1.1.1 here as well.
