Season 9 in Diablo 4 did not just bring new content, it also brought a strange UI bug that is hard to miss. After the latest update, many players, especially on PC, have noticed that the chat font is suddenly much bigger, and there is no way to make it smaller. Yet.
What Happened to Chat?
Since the start of Season 9, if you play on PC, chances are your Chat window will take a significantly bigger place on your screen than before, due to bigger Font Size:
It is unknown if this is just a bug, or if Blizzard thought everyone needed a bigger font size for the usually unused chat. Once thing is sure, players are not happy about it, and you can find a lot of posts on Reddit where people are trying to find a solution to reduce the chat window, or erase it completely:
Can You Fix It Yourself?
As of now, there is no in-game setting to adjust the size, and Blizzard has not officially commented on it. This is mostly just annoying, but it can make it hard to focus on your fight when your chat takes a big part of your screen.
As mentioned, it is unknown if this is actually intentional, or a bug, and so far no way to actually reduce it. You can head to the Option tab – Graphics, and reduce the Font scale, but according to players in the Reddit posts, this does not seem to fix the current problem.
