Dune: Awakening Launch Stats

Dune Awakening Players Used 121 Million Building Pieces (and Died 800K Times to Worms)

The sands of Arrakis have not been kind, but they have been busy. With Dune: Awakening now fully launched, the devs at Funcom shared a big batch of stats celebrating everything players have built, survived, and died to so far. Spoiler: it is a lot.

Here is the official stat breakdown image, shared by the devs:

Dune: Awakening Launch Stats

1 Million Players Have Awakened

That is the big number right at the top. Over one million players have now set foot on Arrakis, facing storms, spice madness, sandworms, and each other. Not bad for a survival MMO that just opened the doors less than 2 weeks ago.

Sandworms Are Still the Biggest Threat

Shai-Hulud does not mess around.

  • 816,720 deaths have been recorded from sandworm attacks alone.
  • Another 66,883 players got swept away by sandstorms.
  • And the Deep Desert has claimed 628,807 lives.

Clearly, the environment is still doing its job.

Spice Is Life (and Everyone Wants It)

Players have already consumed a ridiculous 6.1 billion grams of spice, and that number is only going up. It is not just for survival either: spice powers progression, crafting, and some of the more dangerous side effects of the game.

Building, Flying, and Bleeding for Arrakis

Here is what else players have been busy doing:

  • 121.6 million building pieces placed
  • 517,585 Ornithopters crafted
  • 101,259 Crysknives made from sandworm teeth
  • 56,253mL of blood extracted from Muad’Dib (that poor kangaroo-mouse)

Factions, Mentors, and Guild Life

When choosing a mentor, players split like this:

  • Bene Gesserit: 31%
  • Swordmaster: 25%
  • Trooper: 24%
  • Mentat: 20%

Meanwhile, 121,941 guilds have already been formed – because survival is better with backup. And over 463,000 players made it beyond the dangerous Hagga Basin to explore even more deadly zones.

A Whole Planet to Explore

Players have surveyed a total of 25.5 million square kilometers so far. And that number is expected to grow fast, especially with more content updates and biome expansions planned.
