Elden Ring: Nightreign is an unforgiving game that can knock you down right from the tutorial. Many players don’t actually defeat the tutorial boss on their first try. Thankfully, you can challenge it again later through the Visual Codex. And doing so is absolutely worth it, as the fight rewards you with a useful Relic that opens the door to specific builds.
What Can You Get From the Tutorial Boss
As mentioned in the following Reddit post, defeating the tutorial boss rewards you the Fell Omen Fetish Relic, which offers strong early-game bonuses:
The Fell Omen Fetish Relic grants you the following passives:
- Switching weapons boosts Attack power
- Improved Throwing Knife Damage
- Vigor +1
Why Is This a Good Relic
Even without the Attack boost, the extra +1 Vigor is already a good bonus for your first run. But the real interesting thing is how this Relic opens up original build options. You can take advantage of the passive by frequently switching weapons to stack extra damage, and combining it with throwing knives for added ranged attacks.
How to Retry the Tutorial Boss
If you missed the chance to beat the boss on your first run, don’t worry, you can try again. Open your Visual Codex, go to the “Guide” tab, and press the button shown to replay the fight. If you die once, you’ll respawn and the boss will retain the HP you left it with. If you die a second time, you’ll be sent back to the Roundtable, but you can still access the fight again through the Codex.
