Since the launch of Last Epoch Season 2 and its WASD movement option, many players have swapped their click-to-move playstyle for a more action-RPG-friendly control scheme. While it is a welcome addition for fans of keyboard-based navigation, the implementation is still in early stages — and the community has already identified ways to improve the experience.
A Work-In-Progress, but With Potential
On Reddit, players have voiced that while WASD movement is a promising step, its current form feels a bit rough. One of the biggest issues is that Left Click remains bound to movement, even when using WASD, which can lead to frustrating scenarios where your character shoots around or stands still awkwardly when you are trying to attack or interact with the environment.
As Reddit user u/Zeppelin2k pointed out in the following thread, a simple workaround can make a big difference:
Remove the default “Move/Interact” keybind, and assign your left-click ability directly to “Left Click”.
This prevents accidental movement during combat, improves dodge roll, and helps avoid those annoying “running in place” glitches.
The trade-off? You will no longer be able to left-click to pick up loot or interact with objects. Some players have switched that to a spare mouse button, though it is admittedly not an ideal solution.
EHG Is Listening
The good news is that Eleventh Hour Games is actively monitoring feedback. In a separate Reddit post, a member of the EHG team confirmed they are collecting feedback threads about WASD controls and adding them to their internal list for review:
- An “Attack Only” toggle for Left Click, similar to other ARPGs.
- The ability to fully remap Interact/Pick Up to a key or mouse button without conflicting with movement.
- Cleaner hotkey customization for M1, M2, Q, E, R, and other abilities with WASD active.
For now, if you want to use WASD, try the keybind hack above — it might make your adventures in Eterra a little smoother.
Additionally, EHG has released a quick hotfix regarding some performance issues. You can take a look at the official post for more details.
