Genshin Impact‘s Version Luna II, also known as Version 6.1, is releasing later today! Excited to make your own Genshin Impact world, Travelers? This update covers information on new and returning characters, all upcoming events, as well as the release of Miliastra Wonderland.

How Long is Genshin Impact Maintenance?
Genshin Impact’s Version Luna II maintenance begins on October 22nd at 06:00 (UTC+8) and is estimated to take 5 hours.
If you haven’t played Genshin Impact since Luna I, review the updated minimum and recommended device requirements. In addition, Playstation 4 users are highly recommended to change platforms soon, as the PS4 will be fully unsupported by April 8th, 2026. Ensure you can still play Genshin Impact after today’s maintenance!
Player Compensation (Free Primogems!)
While Genshin Impact servers are under maintenance, players will receive 300 Primogems via the in-game mail within 5 hours after the update is complete. You’ll also receive Primogems if there are any additional bug fixes.
You must be Adventure Rank 5 or above before the maintenance started to receive the compensation.
For New Players Only! Play Now and Get a Free 5-Star Character
The same event from Version “Luna I” returns, but for new players only! Starting from Version “Luna II”, if you begin a new journey in Teyvat, you can receive a free 5-Star character of your choice!
As a new traveler, you’ll be eligible as long as you:
- Complete registration after the Luna II update
- Unlock the Wish feature in Genshin Impact
After unlocking the Wish feature, you can pick one of the following 5-Star characters available:
In addition, after selecting a character, you’ll also receive Ascension materials to make them stronger. This offer is only available until the end of the “Song of the Welkin Moon” Version, which is several months away! But the sooner you act, the better!
The event is only available within 42 days after registration. And if you start later than Version “Luna II”, you may have fewer days to finish this event. Unlocking the Wish feature only takes a few minutes starting from the tutorial, so remember to pick up your character ASAP!

New Event Ode: Phantom Night Candlelight
The spooky season is just around the corner (or is it already here?!), and Genshin Impact isn’t one for playing tricks on you! Perhaps they have the perfect treat arriving in store~
Starting from Version Luna II, Miliastra Wonderland travelers can obtain limited-time cosmetics following the theme of Phantom Night Candlelight. Details on these Manekin Cosmetics are as follows:

Please note there are two Event Ode banners for this period:
- Manekin Cosmetics Event Ode
- Manekina Cosmetics Event Ode
The distinction is important: any Legendary or Elite Cosmetics you obtain from an Event Ode will be exclusive to the Manekin or Manekina only! Make sure you’re rolling on the correct banner, Travelers!

New Main Story Update: Two New Quests!
After Version Luna II is live, travelers can enjoy not one, but TWO new Song of the Welkin Moon acts! You must complete the following prior to starting the new Archon Quests:
- Song of the Welkin Moon: Act II “Elegy of Dust and Lamplight“
- You must also be at least Adventure Rank 28 or above!
Once you complete Archon Quest Chapter I: Act III “A New Star Approaches,” you can use the “Quick Start” function to unlock Song of the Welkin Moon: Act I “A Dance of Snowy Tides and Hoarfrost Groves” early!
The game will be updated up to Song of the Welkin Moon: Act IV “An Elegy for Faded Moonlight“, so be sure to complete it soon! By completing it before December 2nd, you can obtain Primogems, Character Ascension Materials, and more!
New Content Release: Miliastra Wonderland
Starting from Version Luna II, all players can now enjoy some fun, exciting adventures… created by travelers, for travelers!
The User Generated Content (UGC) space, known as Miliastra Wonderland, features a wide variety of activities! For example, you can play community-built minigames with other friends, create a mysterious getaway, and even decorate your very own Manekin~
