With the release of Genshin Impact Version Luna I, you will not just be exploring the long-awaited Nod-Krai region. The update also launches with a new challenge in the Imaginarium Theater, the Lunar Mode.
This mode is added on top of the regular Theater gameplay, bringing more battles and extra rewards, much like how Honkai: Star Rail’s Simulated Universe adds more challenges, rewards, and endgame content to its system.
How Lunar Mode Works
To take part in Lunar Mode, you will need to be properly prepared before stepping on stage. Here are the requirements:
- 12 combat stages must be completed per run.
- Elemental restrictions still apply, meaning you will have to think carefully about your lineup.
- You need at least 28 characters at Level 70 or higher to begin.
- You can include up to 32 characters, and every extra character added grants corresponding buffs when the performance starts.
- As usual, one supporting cast character can be invited to help out.
The requirements are not that different from the Visionary Mode, but Lunar will be quite the challenge, aimed at players with good rosters and preparation. It is supposed to be much harder than Visionary, so expect some characters to not do as good this time.
Lunar Arcana and the Arcana Challenge
Alongside the Mage’s arrival in Version Luna I, a mysterious new item has appeared on stage! The Lunar Arcana.
During a Lunar Mode run, you can face an extra combat stage known as the Arcana Challenge.
Clearing it rewards you with Lunar Arcana. Those are special collectible “Tarot Cards.” You can find some corresponding to the following concepts or “divinities”:
- The Chariot
- Justice
- The lovers
- And more
These items have deeper lore significance, and you can even trade duplicate cards with friends to complete your collection! A few achievements with Primogem rewards are also tied to collecting them all.
Rewards for Lunar Mode
Talking about rewards, this new challenge will also come with a ton of gifts! Players who complete Lunar Mode can earn up to 1,000 Primogems, along with plenty of materials and other resources for your future adventures. Everything you need to help you get and upgrade the new Nod-Krai characters!
Lunar Mode is a new way to test your roster capabilities, and earn rewards in Genshin Impact. With its high character requirements, unique Arcana collectibles, and the promise of big Primogem payouts, it will become another nice challenge for endgame players!
