Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Voice Recording Has Started

It looks like the next chapter of Final Fantasy 7 Remake is officially underway. Voice recording for Part 3 has started, giving fans even more reason to believe the trilogy will wrap up in time for the series’ 30th anniversary!

Cloud’s Voice Actor Teases Return

Cody Christian, who voices Cloud Strife in the English version, recently posted an Instagram story showing himself back in the recording booth. He tagged it with a Cloud image and wrote, “so happy to be back with my bestie,” making it pretty clear what project he was working on.

  • Voice recording usually happens once the script is finalized.
  • It often signals that major story and character work is locked in.
  • Development is likely further along than many expected.

As mentioned, voice recording usually happens once the script is finalized, which means development is moving forward. As reported by GamesRadar and PushSquare, Cody Christian’s recent post suggests that Part 3 might be further along than players expected.

Targeting a 2027 Release?

With Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth out since February 2024, it makes sense that Part 3 could target early 2027. That timing would not just feel natural – it would also line up with the 30th anniversary of the original Final Fantasy 7, which was first released on January 31, 1997.

Square Enix previously mentioned they want a faster turnaround for Part 3, and if voice recording has already started, a 2027 release is beginning to feel rather realistic.

  • 2027 would give the team about three years of development time.
  • It would be a perfect way to celebrate the series’ legacy.
