It seems the War Within is hiding a lot more underground than you might think! There’s an extremely important potion that all serious gatherers should get ASAP before going back out picking herbs and mining.
The new expansion zones are indeed hiding something. And that something is plenty of camouflaged gathering nodes! Both gathering professions have invisible herbs and veins/seams all over the world, and you’ll need this specific potion to see them!
True Sight Indeed
The 
Phial of Truesight is a simple potion and, as it so clearly states, it will reveal all camouflaged nodes for 30 minutes. You don’t really need higher ranks either, as they just increase the Perception stat boost further. This truly is a key item if you mean to head out and exclusively gather, especially if you have both mining and herbalism.
One Phial will cost you around 300 gold, but the price is dropping steadily. With this still being pretty early in the expansion, it will probably decline quite a bit further still.
Making It Yourself
You can craft the Phial of Truesight yourself if you or one of your alts have alchemy, and here are the required components:
- 1 x
Viridescent Spores - 5 x
Mycobloom - 5 x
Luredrop - 5 x
Blessing Blossom - 4 x
Gilded Vial
Is It Worth It?
Whether it’s a worthwhile investment is up to you, but players have been reporting around 15-20% more nodes found over its duration, but those numbers can fluctuate extremely. As always with nodes it very much depends on who on your shard has it on and is going through the routes, how lucky you are when harvesting said nodes etc.
As the price of the phial goes down, so will the price of the extra materials you gain from it, so its value is a tricky thing to gauge. But those players using it so far seem happy with its performance. And at the end of the day, some players just like finding more gathering nodes, regardless of whether it’s earning them more gold or not!
