Giant Amounts of Masterworking and Boss Summoning Mats Farm Method Found

Forget the Pit, it’s time for a new source of masterworking materials! Rob’s at it again as he found yet another incredibly efficient farm method! This time around it’s masterworking mats and Tormented boss summoning mats. Taking advantage of the new seasonal activity brings very plentiful rewards it seems, so let’s take a look.

The Method

So the “method” is seemingly pretty simple, just run Infernal Hordes and get lots of Burning Aether! But there’s a bit more to that, as the tier of the activity is important. Not only that, but the way to get a whole lot of Ather is also a bit specific.

In the video below Rob manages to get around 800 NeathironNeathiron, around 5 Stygian StoneStygian Stones and a whole lot of other mats as well in ONE 15 minute run. Now, he and his group were running a tier 7 Infernal Hordes map, which does require some solid builds. But, generally speaking, the Pit is over! At least if Blizzard don’t change the drop rates and if you can clear that high a tier.

Rob goes into all the details below, so definitely check out the full video. But basically, you should focus on Hellborne upgrades from the between-wave buff selection. The “+1 Hellborne when spawned” and “Hellborne grant +1 Aether” being the best picks, with the Soulspires being an ok alternative. This can get you up to 600 Aether, which then allows you to open many materials chests. You also get a fair chunk of gold with the remaining Aether, and if you wanted, you can get a LOT of gold if you just open the gold chest.

And Rob isn’t the only one to get the tier 7s done either, with some solo action below:

Lower Tiers

Now, these are just the top-end mats we’re talking about here, but the lower tier masterworking materials are also dropping on lower Hordes levels. And getting those high numbers of Aether isn’t really related to the higher activity tier, as players have been getting it in lower ones as well:
