Gold From Bronze: Is It Worth It Converting Through Tabards in MoP Remix?

Remix isn’t quite done yet! There’s still around 15 hours as of time or writing until the end of the event (you can find the exact regional times here) and players have been trying to tie things up and get some additional benefits at the end.

How to get those massive amounts of Remix Bronze into any sort of benefit in retail has crossed many a player’s mind. And somehow getting it into gold is the dream! Luckily for us, one of the methods to do so got thoroughly tested. So, let’s take a look at the results!

Is the Process Worth It?

To get right to the point, sadly for everyone, the short answer for the dilemma would be no, it’s not worth it. A more detailed answer, with some solid number crunching, follows.

WeeklyNorth9589 automated the procedure of buying and selling tabards through the use of macros. The first macro is used to quickly fill one bag with Bronze tabard purchases. The second macro equips a tabard so it can be sold instead of refunded for Bronze, and puts it into a different bag. An easy last step is a one button click to sell all trash.

Here’s a short video which shows the entire process.

More Math on the Matter

Delving further into the mathematics behind it goes like this:

  • One tabard costs five bronze, and sells for 0.25 gold.
  • If you spam the macro for five minutes, you’ll sell 293 tabards and earn 73.25 gold.
  • Multiplying the minutes by 12 gets you the calculations for one hour. They amount to 1465 bronze spent to earn 879 gold.

Going even further and spending 60k Bronze (which is around what a new alt will have if you just run the dungeons), which will require 12000 tabards, which takes about 40 hours. Spending 1 million Bronze would take about 28 days, require roughly 200k tabards, and earn you about 600k gold. Considering you don’t have those days, it’s a bit of a moot point.

For what it’s worth, getting a character to level 70 in the Remix awards you additional 40k Bronze, and whatever you made on the side, which adds up to the 60K mentioned above. At first glance the numbers might seem great, but the time invested required is definitely not.

So, what are you doing with your final time in Remix?
