GTA 6 Release Date

GTA 6 Delayed to May 2026 – Rockstar Confirms New Date

Rockstar just confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is now scheduled to release on May 26, 2026. The update was shared on the studio’s official X/Twitter account, together with a short message to fans:

Extra Time to Finish the Game

In the statement, Rockstar explained that they need more time to polish GTA 6 and deliver the level of quality players expect. The message also thanked fans for their continued support and patience.

We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve,” the post reads.

GTA 6 was previously expected sometime in 2025, but no exact release date had been announced until now. The new date pushes it almost a full year further than many fans were hoping.

Still No Word on a PC Version

The game is still confirmed only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC version has been announced yet. Since the first trailer in December 2023, Rockstar has been fairly quiet about the game’s development and what comes next.

Some fans are now looking toward Take-Two’s May 16 earnings call in hopes of more updates, though nothing has been confirmed.

For now, all we know is that the wait for GTA 6 just got a little longer…
