Elden Ring: Nightreign Wylder Class

How to Beat Every Nightlord in Elden Ring: Nightreign

Elden Ring: Nightreign‘s Nightlords are the final bosses of each expedition. They hit hard, look terrifying, and usually have a second phase that can wipe out your team if you are not ready. If you are wondering which elements work best or just want some quick tips before heading in, this breakdown covers all 8 Nightlords and how to deal with them.

Gladius, Beast of Night

Elden Ring: Nightreign - Gladius, Beast of Night
  • Weakness: Holy
  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Tips:
Gladius opens with slow sword slams and fire breath. Use Holy damage early to stagger him quickly and gain momentum. Stay close to bait his lunges, but do not get surrounded.
  • Watch out for:
At 75% HP, he splits into three wolves. The one with red eyes is the real threat; focus it first before the pack gets out of hand.

Adel, Baron of Night

Elden Ring: Nightreign - Adel, Baron of Night
  • Weakness: Poison
  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Tips:
Poison builds melt Adel’s health while you kite his charge combos. When he vomits, it is your signal to go all-in. Use terrain to break line of sight and reset if needed.
  • Watch out for:
His grab/bite attack is a one-shot if you are not at full HP. Always keep stamina for an emergency dodge – it comes out fast.

Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow

Elden Ring: Nightreign - Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow
  • Weakness: Lightning
  • Difficulty: Hard
  • Tips:
Fulghor fights like a hyper-aggressive duelist. Lightning spells and bleed weapons both chunk him down fast. If you are solo, keep circling and punish the end of his spin attacks.
  • Watch out for:
His poison-imbued arm in phase two adds damage-over-time to every hit. Try not to get hit twice in a row because it stacks quickly.

Caligo, Miasma of Night

Elden Ring: Nightreign Caligo
  • Weakness: Fire
  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Tips:
Stay near Caligo’s front legs and bait his claw swipes to open space for damage. Fire attacks work great, and bleed builds are especially strong during the mist phases.
  • Watch out for:
He covers the field in frost mist; avoid the outer zones and use any light sources to see his attacks better.

Gnoster, Wisdom of Night

Elden Ring Nightreign Gnoster
  • Weakness: Fire
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Tips:
Ranged fire builds make this fight somewhat of a breeze. Target the flying moth early, then swap to melee once it fuses with the grounded form.
  • Watch out for:
Gnoster summons moving projectiles/swarms. If you stop moving, they hit you and lower your rune gain. Just keep repositioning.

Libra, Creature of Night

Elden Ring Nightreign Libra Boss
  • Weakness: Madness
  • Difficulty: Medium/Hard
  • Tips:
Madness is not a common damage type, but if you have it, Libra melts. Otherwise, wait out the illusion attacks and punish in-between.
  • Watch out for:
Libra’s orb shield reflects projectiles (remove it by destroying surrounding light symbols). Only cast when the animation drops – otherwise, you might damage yourself.

Maris, Fathom of Night

Elden RIng Nightreign Maris Boss
  • Weakness: Lightning
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Tips:
Stick to ranged lightning damage, and you will ‘cruise’ through. The fight mostly revolves around managing her summoning phases.
  • Watch out for:
She drops a floating egg above the arena– if it lands, it explodes. Destroy it midair or run away as far as you can to avoid a massive AoE wipe.

Heolstor, the Nightlord

Elden Ring Nightreign - Heolstor the Nightlord
  • Weakness: Holy
  • Difficulty: Hard
  • Tips:
Bring Holy damage and be patient. Heolstor mixes “lava” trails, teleport strikes, and AoEs, so you need to time your bursts. Use a tanky setup and stagger him between casts.
  • Watch out for:
His teleport+dash chain is deadly if you panic. Dodge diagonally and never roll backward when he disappears.

Bonus Tips for All Nightlords

  • Bring ranged weapons, even if you are a melee build; every Nightlord has down phases where ranged damage is free.
  • Save your Ultimate Skills for second phases. Most bosses fully reset stagger bars when they transform.
  • Exploit status effects. Poison, bleed, and fire/burn all tick during dodges or spell casts. Builds that apply them quickly are super strong.

Note:
Once you beat Gladius and any three others, Heolstor unlocks as the final expedition boss. You will want to respec or upgrade your Holy damage beforehand, as his second phase can snowball quickly if you are underleveled.
