This week’s Collector’s Bounty buff, part of the Greedy Emmisary event, had some very high numbers when it comes to buffed Legacy mount and loot drops. From 10 to 25 times higher for select items, we were never clear on just how much that all added up to. Players assumed various amounts, but now we have a definitive answer.
A Flat 5%
In a recent short video for the event, Blizzard shared the exact amount the special items are getting buffed by:
Now, that 5% doesn’t sound quite as hype as 25x, but it actually comes out to the same amount. The reason Blizzard said the buffs were “up to” 10 and 25x for select items is because the 5% bonus is different for each item. If an item had a 0.5% drop rate before, the added 5% brings it to 5.5%. And that is 10 times higher than the original drop rate. That also means one of the items on that list (presumably the Hearthstone toy or a really rare mount) has around a 0.21% drop rate!
Either way, the buffs are large, and this next month will be huge for mount and legendary collectors! You should definitely jump in if you ever wanted any of the many pre-Dragonfliht mounts!
