Naughty Dog is not just working on one game: it’s working on two! Neil Druckmann, the head of the studio, recently revealed that there’s a second, unannounced game in development at Naughty Dog. This is in addition to the already announced Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
A New Secret Project?
In a podcast interview with Press X to Continue, Druckmann explained that he’s deeply involved in Intergalactic, co-writing it with narrative director Claire Carré, and working alongside directors Matthew Gallant and Kurt Margenau. But the big surprise? There’s another game being made at the studio, one that hasn’t been revealed yet.
“There’s another game that’s being worked on at Naughty Dog where I am more of a producer role,” Druckmann said. “I get to mentor and watch this other team and give feedback.”
However, he didn’t say who is directing this secret game or what it’s about.
What Could This Mystery Game Be?
Players are already trying to guess. It might be The Last of Us Part 3, though that seems less likely. Druckmann has said before that he has ideas for the story, but he’s not sure if the game will ever happen. And if it was TLOU3, many would expect him to direct it himself, not just produce.
Another guess is a new Uncharted game. The last entry, The Lost Legacy, came out in 2017. It’s been a long time, and a lot of players have been hoping for a return.
Or maybe it’s something completely new. After all, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is also a brand-new game. With Summer Game Fest right around the corner, it’s not impossible we get new information on Intergalactic, or some additional hints at the secret game!
