The last day of the NA reset came and went, and plenty happened. From all three top guilds making it to Silken Court, to some massive progress on the penultimate boss, hotfixes to dissuade guilds from 1-tank compositions, there’s plenty to talk about.
Some Fast Ky’veza Catch-Up
We started the day off extremely intensely, as Echo wasted no time on Ky’veza, not only waking up at 7:30 CET, but also grabbing a World 2nd within an hour and a half of getting in the raid!
That’s 256 pulls to Liquid’s 304, with a lot of time left to progress on Silken Court. Meanwhile Method was getting closer and closer, with the customary 1% wipes included as well. They did manage to down Ky’veza World 3rd though, around 5 hours after Echo.
We had another really close call on Ky’veza, as Huoguo Hero also had a 1.7% pull, but didn’t quite manage to follow up on it like Method did. This left us with only 3 guilds progressing on the penultimate council boss.
We now have 7 guilds progressing on Ky’veza, with FatSharkYes, Instant Dollars, Zbox, JiTianHing, End Myth and Banhammer joining Huoguo, all trying to get through the Princess.
Back to Court
Echo had basically their entire raid day for Silken Court progress, and they used their time wisely. They also decided to do the 10-man raid thing to find the timers and basically see the entire fight, which worked very well. This time we got to see it though, as they stayed in the fight right until the hard enrage, around 9 and a half minutes in!
And if you want a bit of an explanation on those mechanics you saw above, you can read the rundown here.
It’s a little unclear whether the hard enrage is based off of the full fight length, or if it’s 3 minutes from phase 3 start. In any case, once they got all the timers and saw the fight, it was time for Echo to head into some serious pulls. They called it an early night once more today, and it’s looking like this is their standard raid duration these days, as they stop raiding around 9:30 CET and start around 7:30 AM. Whatever it is they’re doing, it’s working for them, as they managed to get the boss(es) down to 53% by the end of their raid day.
Method managed to get the boss down to 59%, as they were raiding until midnight CET as usual.
After that it was all Liquid, as they kept progressing using the by then usual 1-tank strategy. However, Blizzard really didn’t like that and tried to discourage it with some hotfixes. After those didn’t work, they added even more, this time successfully killing the 1-tank method.
- The Silken Court
- Fixed an issue with Piercing Strike debuff not increasing Piercing Strike’s damage. Piercing Strike debuff now persists through death.
It didn’t take the NA guild long to adjust to the 2-tank strategy, adding a Guardian Druid. We soon saw some new bests on the boss, from 50% to 40, and then a longer-held 35%:
Post-2-Tank
There was still plenty of time in their raid day, so they continued. The expected progress was the usual 5ish% on a great pull, and we did see a few close to 35% pulls, but nothing was really moving much. Until it did. One extremely unexpected pull managed to push past the previous wipe point and we saw a new part of the fight. As it turns out, that part is very, very much easier than the previous, as Liquid just destroyed the boss HP! They did hit the enrage but it turned out to not be as bad as expected, as they could live through it a pretty solid amount of time. 30 seconds, in fact. The result of all this? 14.05%! Let’s take a look at the full pull:
Now suddenly the kill was in play for the day! They didn’t get any significant progress for a long time after that pull, with some 40% bests. Luckily they snapped out of it soon enough, and got a really good pull in with many players alive, once again riding that enrage all the way to 9.81%!
Here’s the raid composition on one of Liquid’s later pulls:
And here’s a look at all the progress on Silken Court so far!
Liquid are still raiding since they wake up late tomorrow anyway due to the reset, and Echo are warming up and getting ready to head in.
Update: World First
And they’ve done it! Liquid grab the World First on Silken Court at the end of their raid day and reset on pull 171! You can check out more details and the full kill VoD here.
As usual, to see what happens in real-time, you can always check the coverage streams (Liquid, Echo, Method), or head on over to Raider.IO for live text coverage, clips, analysis and more.
