One of the Biggest QoL-Features for Runes Is Still Missing

As the seasons progress in Diablo 4, players continue to notice small issues, and suggest smart quality-of-life improvements. One of the latest topics is all about runes and inventory space!

What’s the Issue?

With the Vessel of Hatred expansion introducing Runes as an important part of itemization, players have by now realized that the current inventory system just isn’t built to handle them. There are dozens of different rune types, and if you collect even one of each, there simply isn’t enough room in your inventory to hold them all. As a result, most players end up storing their runes in the stash.

The problem? When you want to craft new runes at the Jeweler, you have to manually take stacks out of your stash and move them into your inventory. This means frequent trips back and forth just to craft a few new ones. It quickly becomes an annoying and unnecessary process.

Reddit user Talos_Bane posted about the issue and called for a simple but noteworthy change.

What’s the Solution?

A rather easy fix was pointed out by many inside the Reddit post and comments: let players use runes directly from their stash while crafting. The mechanic would end the constant inventory juggling players are currently forced to do. Other community suggestions also include:

  • Expanding rune inventory capacity
  • Adding Runes as “materials” such as the herbs or gem fragments so they don’t clutter your inventory
  • Letting you access your stash through your pet

Any of these changes would go a long way toward making Rune crafting smoother and less of a chore.

It’s unclear if Blizzard plans to address this issue after Season 9. But with more and more players raising concerns, it’s the kind of small fix that could make a big difference, and one that would be welcomed by nearly every player.
