Patch 1.0.4 Hotfixes: July 7th

Blizzard has released the first batch of hotfixes for Patch 1.0.4. It addresses Necromancer’s Blood Lance builds.

HOTFIX 1 – JULY 7, 2023 – 1.0.4

Class Changes

Necromancer

Enhanced Blood Lance now pierces up to a maximum of 10 enemies.
Aspect of Hungry Blood now fires up to a maximum of 3 Blood Lances per cast.

Developer Note: This is indeed a nerf to Blood Lance, but Blood Lance has been so good for Necromancers that it has been crashing the game! This is a temporary solve while the team reworks the way the Legendary Aspect will function, and we expect this change sometime in Season 1 or shortly after.

Gameplay Changes

The first Whisper Cache you acquire will now always grant a Nightmare Sigil.

Bug Fixes

Further stability improvements.

Another hotfix that will re-enable unique from Helltides is coming later according to Adam Fletcher.

And we have a follow-up tweet that the nerf is just temporary because Blood Lance Necromancers are crashing servers.

You may be going "This is a nerf!" and it is as we note in the notes. But this is temporary. Blood Lance players were crashing games due to an interaction w/ a Legendary Aspect. Will be addressed in S1 or shortly after.

The hotfix this afternoon will re-enable Uber Uniques.
