Patch 11.0.5 is releasing on October 22 and here’s a recap with everything coming in the update.
Patch 11.0.5 Release Date
The anniversary patch is hitting live servers on October 22 in North America and October 23, in the EU.
WoW’s 20th Anniversary Event
The 20th anniversary event runs for 77 days starting on October 22. The main anniversary hub is centralized near the Caverns of Time entrance in Tanaris. The event introduces many new activities, including:
- Mount Mania – A mount-collecting competition where an NPC shows you their mount and you must summon it to gain points and claim victory.
- Story Time – Listen to stories of the past with Lorewalker Cho.
- Fashion Frenzy – Show off your finest looks based on a surprise theme!
- Secrets of Azeroth – A four-chapter event will be available during the celebration.
- New World Bosses – Kill Archavon the Stonewatcher, Sha of Anger, and Doomwalker for mounts and gear.
- Reputation and XP Buffs – Players get a 10% XP and Reputation boost by default, increasing to 20% with a weekly quest.
Anniversary Rewards and Currency
Bronze Celebration Tokens are the event’s currency, used to buy special anniversary items, including:
- Tier 2 Armor Sets updated for ALL classes (even those that did not exist back then)
- Blizzard-Themed Items: Collect items like shields, weapons, and helmets themed after Blizzard employees’ rewards.
- Titles: Buy titles for each expansion, like Outland Hero or Northrend Champion.
- Achievements: You can earn up to 28 new achievements including a meta-achievement awarding a Pheonix mount.
Classic Timewalking
Classic Timewalking is being added, which will become part of the regular Timewalking rotation after the anniversary event concludes. It includes dungeons from the Classic WoW era like Deadmines. A new vendor sells items, including the Reins of the Frayfeather Hippogryph mount, pets, and gear.
Timewalking and Level Scaling Changes
Timewalking scales to your level, from level 10 to 80 and Timewalking gear sets will no longer overpower content, meaning players will rely on their current gear instead of min-maxing old gear for Timewalking.
New Class Combinations for Dracthyr
The Dracthyr race gains access to Hunters, Mages, Priests, Warlocks, and Warriors. These new classes can remain in Visage form (human-like) without transforming. Racials have been updated and Dracthyr received a new Soar Squadron ability that lets other Dracthyr players of your group soar alongside you.
Transmog Changes
Players can collect class-restricted transmog, unlocking previously inaccessible appearances. Quest reward will automatically grant all appearance options, and this feature is retroactive!
Blackrock Depths Raid
Blackrock Depths with 8 bosses and 5 minibosses is being added as a raid available in 3 difficulties (LFR, Normal, and Heroic). Loot and item level scales with raid difficulty.
