Patch 11.2 PTR Bug Wiped Player Letters—But Don’t Panic

In Patch 11.2: Ghosts of K’aresh, Blizzard is introducing some bank changes, phasing out Void Storage and the Reagents Bank.

Why Are Players Freaking Out?

On the 11.2 PTR, players noticed a bug that wiped plain letters in their banks. To this day, some players still hold plain letters of sentimental value in their banks, and wiping their content would be like erasing a part of their WoW history…

What Actually Happened to The Letters in Patch 11.2?

The now-deleted Reddit thread had players freak out about this; many thanked the OP for posting this in advance, giving them a chance to make copies of said letters…

However, someone linked a reply from the official forums there, where Community Manager Kaivax confirmed this to be a bug, so there’s no need to panic.

It’s a Bug, Not a Feature

As Patch 11.2 hits live next week, all Plain Letters should remain unchanged!

So I wonder if it’s actually an issue with the copy to PTR that doesn’t copy over the text references?

Yes it is, and it’s something we’re hoping to fix in a future PTR.
