New cutscenes have emerged in the War Within Early Access, showing us the fate of Dalaran in the new expansion. The following post contains spoilers.
Athelarius merged all the new cutscenes into one video and we’re looking at them in more detail.
The Council of Dalaran
The Council of Dalaran meets and discusses their plans. Magni tells us about his visions of Azeroth and how she is desperately calling for help. Unbeknownst to everyone, Archmage Drenden (Xal’atath) suggests teleporting Dalaran to Khaz Algar, but she plans to orchestrate a Nerubian attack on the city.
Dalaran Teleport to Khaz Algar
In this cutscene, the whole city is teleported to the shores of Khaz Algar. Magni tells Dagran (Moira’s son) that Azeroth’s visions were of fire and war, and not of the beautiful shores they see in front of them. Alleria senses something is wrong and she goes to search for Khadgar. Alleria meets Drenden who reveals that he’s Xal’atath in disguise and Drenden’s been dead for years.
Khadgar’s Sacrifice
Khadgar confronts Xal’atath and tries to fight her, but she’s too powerful. In the end, she uses the Dark Heart to kill Khadgar. In his final moments, Khadgar creates a portal for Alleria to escape.
Gone, But Not Forgotten
Anduin, Jaina, Thrall, and Alleria mourn Khadgar in the final cutscene.
