This one goes into the “if you thought THAT was bad” category.
A lot of fuss has been had over WoW’s latest mount addition, the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur. However, Chinese servers already had that particular controversy beat last week!
As reported by NasDa, NetEase, who run WoW in China, outdid original Blizzard in the outrageous mount department. A $265 flying version of the already extremely rare Spectral Tiger mount has been available on Chinese servers for a week! And it even works in Classic, SoD and Hardcore (although the flying part is unclear, and it’s probably just the mount that’s available)!
About a week ago, Blizzard's CN partner NetEase Thunderfire added a flying version of the Spectral Tiger to Classic servers for a whopping price of 1888 CNY or 265 USD. For those who have purchased the normal version before you can get this one by paying the difference for 588… pic.twitter.com/CJiBFhjyLv

Chinese servers had the regular Spectral Tiger for sale before this, but now it’s a flying mount on top. At least you can “only” pay the difference in price if you already owned the ground version.
So, move over Gilded Brutosaur, as you’re no longer the most expensive/controversial mount in town!
