Titan Quest 2 is like a massive playground for theorycrafters and casual builders alike. Right when you start the game, you get to pick two masteries, and not long after you learn about skills, and modifiers a ton of other systems.
As a beginner, especially if you did not play Titan Quest 1, it can be a bit hard to understand how exactly all of this works, especially around the masteries and skill modifiers. This i why we prepared a little recap of what it means, how it works, and how to make the best out of it all!
The Dual Mastery System Returns

Just like in the original game, you will choose two masteries to combine and create your own custom class. But this time, the system is even more refined, with much stronger synergy potential and a ton of hybrid build support.
In the Early Access launch, you will start with four masteries: Earth, Storm, Rogue, and Warfare, with more planned for future updates. These are not just magic or melee classes, they come with their own mechanics and interactions. This means you can build whatever hybrid you can come up with!
Skill Modifiers: Customize Your Playstyle

On top of your masteries, each skill can be buffed with unique modifiers that completely change what that skill does or how it does it. You can decide to increase your AoE, change your elemental damage, increase your cooldown or movement speed… The options are there, and you can really customize your build until it fits you specifically.
You can change your modifiers at any time, so you do not have to worry about picking the wrong one and getting stuck with stuff you don’t like. You can really experiment freely.
Titan Quest 2 really said no to outdated systems by letting you respec skills anywhere, change skill modifiers freely, mix active and passive skills independently, thanks to separate point pools, and more!
Attributes have also been revamped. For instance, combining Might and Knowledge grants you Resolve, boosting both fire and cold damage, and that is perfect for hybrid caster-warriors.
This system supports everything from classic tanks to even spellcasting warriors in heavy armor! Yes, you can be a mage with a heavy armor if you want to! You have over dozens of build possibilities even during early access!
