The Moirai, Greek mythology’s iconic weavers of fate, play a major role in Titan Quest II, and not even Zeus is safe from their judgment.
Fate has always been a huge part of Greek mythology, and Titan Quest 2 is leaning hard into that theme as well. They did not just get inspiration from it, they went all in. The developers recently shared some more information about the mysterious trio known as the Moirai, the goddesses who weave, measure, and cut the threads of mortal life.
You might have seen them already in the game’s announcement trailer. But there is a lot more behind their story.
The Three Sisters of Destiny

The three Goddesses of Fate, also called the Moirai, are:
- Klotho – “The Spinner”, who starts the thread of your life. She weaves the thread of mortal lives and determines the hour of their birth.
- Lachesis – “The Allotter”, who measures how long and how well you will live.
- Atropos – “She Who Cannot Be Turned”, who ends the threads of life.
In Titan Quest 2, they are portrayed as three forms of a single being. Different ages, one face. A powerful, symbolic representation of life itself.
Above Even the Gods

The Moirai are not just Goddesses.
In Greek Mythology, gods are often depicted as quite “human. They may be immortal and possess massive power, they are psychologically not that far from mortal humans. They have the ability to love, hate, or even fear. Zeus himself, the most powerful Olympian, can be petty, jealous, or selfish. Greek pantheon gods typically look more like a bickering family, than some ultimate most powerful beings.
But Moirai are above this. Even Zeus can not go against fate itself. The Moirai are in charge of making sure that all events happen exactly when and how they are supposed to.
Characters like Oedipus or Perseus, often show that you can’t go against fate. Whatever you attempt, is often what was meant to happen anyway.
What This Means for You in Titan Quest 2
So, why does all of this matter for your adventure? Well, the developers hinted that the Moirai are not too happy about the chaos Nemesis is causing. And when fate has problems, it just might fall to you, the mortal hero, to help restore the balance.
What role will the Moirai play in your journey? We will have to see what fate has in store for us!
