It’s time to look at some real numbers as the big tuning pass has now shows its results! Now there is another bit of tuning coming this week, but it’s much smaller and much more direct, so the rankings should mostly remain stable (but we’ve noted some of the expected changes). We’re also taking a look at a new chart this week, as u.gg show us how the individual Hero talent trees are doing. And we’re also taking a peek into Mythic, so there’s a LOT going on.
Note: We are using Normalized scores instead of raw DPS for the Warcraft Logs rankings. Normalized scores take into account the outlier boss fights where certain specs could stack massive DPS (due to the nature of the fight, whether it’s AoE spam or something else), which would then affect their overall score for the whole raid.
Heroic
Heroic Overall Damage 95th Percentile
As expected, Enhancement is taking over and then some! The Shaman was already doing very well, and with the nerfs to its major competitors, it’s far ahead of the pack among the best players. Arcane actually also benefited from the tuning, despite getting some nerfs, as it moves into 2nd. That’s mostly due to Fury’s significant nerfs, as it finds itself 4 down in fifth place. Not to worry though, there is a Warrior in the top 3, as Arms didn’t mind its minor nerf much and moved up 2 spots!
Devastation took its buff and soared, gaining a giant 14 spots and ending up in an impressive 4th! Subtlety is pretty stable but does manage to gain 1, and Destruction is actually the one that wins the “most improved” badge this week, gaining 15 spots in 7th! Ret drops a little, as BM holds firm, and Havoc moves on up to the end of the top 10. We see two Mages joining Augmentation at the bottom, but they’re both getting buffed this week so they should be out of there soon.
Overall Damage All Percentiles
Things are a little different in the generalist bracket, as Enhancement does still hold on to No.1, but the Warriors are hot on its tail. Arms still makes a big move up but Fury doesn’t drop down quite as much, securing that 3rd spot after being on top. Destruction is doing even better here, coming up from the same low spot the previous week and leaping a colossal 18 spots into 4th! Arcane drops a little as Subtlety soars, Devastation is much improved and Retribution drops 3. Windwalker falls to 9th while Beast Mastery holds the line in 10th.
Boss Only Damage All Percentiles
The direct damage chart seems less affected by the tuning, as Arcane and Beast Mastery remain on top. Interestingly, Enhancement actually drops 2 spots here, as Arms and Subtlety make a move. Affliction is still going strong and is joined by the buffed Destruction.
Normal Overall Damage All Percentiles
Down in the standard difficulty we see a pretty different picture. Players haven’t really caught on to Enhancement quite yet, and Subtlety has moved into 1st. Arms also gains a spot, as Arcane drops to 3rd. The bottom 3 are the same as in Heroic.
A Peek Into Mythic
So, Mythic then. These stats are JUST for fun really, as there’s very few guilds past 4/8, not to mention 5/8. But if you wanted to see how the absolute best guilds are doing, here’s a little look!
U.gg Raw Heroic DPS Rankings by Hero Talent Tree
We have a very interesting new ranking from u.gg, as they’re taking a look at how the individual Hero talent trees stack up against each other! The stats are very different from Warcraft Logs, obviously, but a lot of the trends are the same. Affliction at the top is the biggest outlier, but the rest are all top 10 specs above as well.
As always, you can check out our tier lists, our class guides, and our Nerub-ar Palace guide! And for even more stats, head on over to Warcraft Logs and u.gg.
