Blizzard’s classic RTS trilogy is finally coming to PC Game Pass this June, and it feels like another clear step toward something bigger.
The big question now is: Is World of Warcraft next?
Warcraft RTS Classics Join Game Pass on June 26
If you grew up playing these games or never got the chance to try them, this is a pretty big moment. All three original Warcraft strategy titles will be playable through Game Pass for PC:
- Warcraft I: Remastered – The original RTS that started it all, with updated art and controls.
- Warcraft II: Remastered – Classic naval battles and faction warfare from 1995, now remastered.
- Warcraft III: Reforged – The controversial remake, which includes a visual overhaul, campaign content, and modern matchmaking support.
It is worth noting that these are PC-only, so console players are not getting a direct port here. But with Blizzard now under Microsoft, and more legacy titles being added to Game Pass, the timing is interesting.
Is WoW Next?
With Blizzard classics making their way to Game Pass, World of Warcraft is starting to feel like the final piece of the puzzle. And there are two big reasons the idea suddenly feels even more realistic:
- Microsoft now owns Blizzard, making Xbox a natural home for WoW, especially with cross-platform and Game Pass synergy being a pretty huge part of their strategy.
- The new “Combat Assistant” system in WoW (also known as One-Button Rotation) simplifies gameplay quite significantly, making it much easier to play with a controller.
So, could WoW be next? Honestly, it would not be that big of a leap anymore.

The Setup Is Already There
Since the release of The War Within, the UI is in a much better place, controller support is built-in, and now Game Pass is bringing more Blizzard titles to new audiences.
We might not have an official announcement yet, but it is rather hard not to see this as Blizzard laying the groundwork for a possible WoW console release down the line. There is nothing confirmed, but the pieces are all in place…
