World of Warcraft - Villain - Queen Azshara

What If You Could Become One of WoW’s Biggest Villains?

Ever wanted to become one of Warcraft’s most iconic villains?

N’Zoth, Queen Azshara, Kil’jaeden – some of the most known threats in all of Warcraft history. And while you cannot (yet) turn into the queen herself, Patch 11.1.7 does let you take on the form of one villain you may not have expected…

A new toy, the Royal Visage iconRoyal Visage, lets you temporarily become one of Warcraft’s most recognizable villains. The moment you use it, you will know exactly who it is. The armor. The blade. The presence. Every Wrath-era player will recognize the silhouette instantly.

The transformation is purely cosmetic, but it is unmistakable – and it ties directly into The Lich King Lorewalking campaign, one of three new storylines added in this patch. Finish that short scenario, and the toy is yours.

How to Unlock the Royal Visage Toy

To get the toy, complete The Lich King campaign from Lorewalker Cho. It is available to any character Level 10 and up.

  • Visit Lorewalker Cho in Stormwind, Orgrimmar, or Dornogal
  • Choose “The Lich King” from the Lorewalking menu
  • Play through a short, story-driven scenario
  • Finish the full scenario to receive the Royal Visage iconRoyal Visage toy

There are no achievements or bonus objectives. Just complete the storyline, and the reward is yours.

What the Toy Does

The Royal Visage iconRoyal Visage is a transformation toy with no gameplay effects, but a lot of visual impact.

  • Lasts 5 minutes per use
  • Works anywhere (no zone restrictions)
  • Purely cosmetic
  • Perfect for screenshots or RP

The tooltip keeps things vague, but as soon as you use the toy, you will instantly recognize who you turned into.

What Is Lorewalking?

Lorewalking is a new story-focused feature added in Patch 11.1.7. It lets you revisit iconic Warcraft moments without needing to replay old content or grind through legacy expansions.

Each campaign plays like a mini-scenario. You can pause or exit at any time, and continue later.

In The Lich King storyline, you will:

  • Witness the Culling of Stratholme
  • Watch the fall of Arthas
  • Step into the Lich King’s armor during his final battle

Who Or What Is The Lich King?

If you are new to WoW or skipped Wrath content, the villain behind this toy is Arthas Menethil; once a noble paladin, and later one of the most feared threats in Azeroth’s history.

Arthas Menethil - World of Warcraft

Here is a simplified breakdown of his fall from grace:

  • Arthas was trained by Uther the Lightbringer
  • He tried to save his people during a deadly plague
  • Events led him to take up the cursed blade Frostmourne
  • He was eventually corrupted, led the Scourge, and became the Lich King

The Downfall of Arthas Menethil

What turned Arthas into a villain was not just Frostmourne; it was pride and desperation. When a deadly plague hit, he ordered the slaughter of innocent citizens to prevent infection. Then, instead of turning back, he embraced darker and darker choices.

He sacrificed his soul.
He killed his own father.
And he led the undead Scourge to war.

That spiral, from doing what he thought was right to becoming the monster he once fought against, is what made his story both tragic and unforgettable.

Arthas’ story has influenced much of WoW’s world and history, even long after his defeat in Icecrown Citadel.

Even if you are not big on lore, the Royal Visage iconRoyal Visage is a fun reason to try Lorewalking. The toy is easy to unlock, and the scenario is short, but the transformation is something you will not find anywhere else!
