Genshin Impact‘s upcoming version 6.0, also called “Luna I“, is just a few weeks away! During the livestream today, HoYoverse revealed the new Nod-krai region and upcoming characters, but the biggest surprise was for high-level players! The character level cap is being raised to 100! But it comes with a serious catch…
Here is what you need to know!
Masterless Stella Fortuna – The Key to Level 100
With Luna I, you will be able to get a new item called Masterless Stella Fortuna. You will receive one each time you pull a 5★ character that is already at max constellations.
For example, if you lose your 50/50 to Jean and already have her at max constellations, you will get a Masterless Stella Fortuna.
You can then use this item on any character you own to increase their level cap. You will need a total of 3 Stella Fortuna to reach level 100.
Unfortunately, this means you will have to pull extra constellations on characters you already own just to level one character to 100. It is not free-to-play friendly, giving a clear advantage to whales who collect C6 characters.

- Only obtainable by pulling a 5★ character that is already at max constellations (C6)
- Retroactive: all your past pulls since launch will be converted into Masterless Stella Fortuna once the update goes live (if you ever pulled a C7 that is).
- Purpose: Increases a character’s level cap from 90 → 100
- How It Works:
- Can be used on any character already at max level
- Each item grants +5 levels
- Total of 3 items needed to reach level 100
- No need for ascension, EXP books, Mora, or other materials
- Benefits: Boosts both base stats and elemental reaction effects

This update is a huge win for players who consistently chase C6 characters, as it finally gives extra value to all those max-constellation pulls. At the same time, it encourages spending Primogems on future banners to secure additional Masterless Stella Fortuna, making high-level progression even more rewarding for whales, and leaving free-to-play players once again on the side of the road.
In short, if you have been hoarding 5★ and chasing max constellations, your efforts will finally pay off. But if you are free-to-play, hitting level 100 will be tough without some lucky pulls.
